Boone County 61 Holmes 51

I meant after those first few mins.

As far as favorite.... I really like Dixie. HC gets a lot of love because of their record but Dixie is hands down the most talented and has the best player in the region, imo.

I agree about Dixie and the best player. I like HC as well but they will have a tough game against CCH just to make it out of their district. Where is their district tournament at this year? Could be a factor.

Someone picked Boone in the prediction thread...wonder who?

Honestly though I did not think Boone would win by 10, thought it would be closer against the only two teams to beat HC this year.

Game was closer than this score indicates. Boone pulled away in the last minute with fts.

On a side note, I was very surprised Holmes didn't use Rice on McQueary at all. They had Knox, Englemon, and Lewis on him the entire game and he kept shooting over them. Really felt Rice length and athleticism would've given Zane problems.

I, along with other people have been saying it all year but it really is all about matchups, especially in the postseason.

When I went back and forth a week ago or so about the whole idea of this team beat that team so that makes them better and should be ranked higher.......then it was the idea that HC beat Brossart but Brossart beat Holmes and Holmes beat HC.

Take Boone County for example....They beat Holy Cross and Holmes this year and yet they lose to Cov Cath and NCC, while Holy Cross beat Cov Cath and NCC twice.

Nice pics Panda...the one with Rice dunking does him no justice. He threw it down with one hand HARD on Zane.

 Walter ... I have never seen anyone as fascinated by the dunk as you are. You do love them, don't you?

I agree. That is surprising. As I said in the prediction thread, McQueary is not a low post player. He is a shooter and with his size he shoots with confidence over anyone shorter than him. That is why I expected Rice to guard him versus Knox and others.

Awesome! Thanks Walter. I knew the region was there but wasn't aware that they are playing their district there too. Who is the host team?

The 9th Region Tournament is at the Bank of Kentucky Center.

35th District Tournament is at Regents Hall (as far as I know). Beechwood I believe is the host school.

I tend to agree. Hatton has really filled out since I saw him as an 8th or 9th grader.

Anyone have a handle yet on Holmes' likely path to the regional tourney, or is it too early to speculate?

If these two play again, we will probably see Rice on McQueary and Knox/Englemon/Lewis on Carr/Palmer.

Holmes will play Beechwood in the first round and if they win that, face either Covcath or Holy Cross in the finals. Holmes has beaten both already.... CCH by 2 at home and HC by 11 at HC.

Okay thanks BN24. I was thinking BOK Center for both. Not sure why. Obviously that is not the case. Not quite as excited about Regents Hall as BOK Center, but understand it will be much better than being at Beechwood just due to the size difference.
