A serious accident occured, this morning, at the site of the Horseshoe Casino, being built in Cincinnati. A lot of numbers are being thrown around, but it seems there are about ten serious injuries and up to 30 injuries in total. No one is believed to be trapped, and they say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

I have subcontractors who I frequently used who were on the jobsite, and I spoke with one of them briefly. They were pouring a second floor concrete slab on metal deck, and there was a collapse. There were less than 10 serious injuries - none were life threatening - and most were apparently inflicted by falls of around 15 feet. They had a LOT of emergency personnel there right away, to the tune of 13 fire trucks and 15 ambulances, plus police cars galore, so it looks like a huge tragedy, but it's not sounding to me like it's going to end up being much more than some painful workers comp claims and a hitch-up in the construction schedule.

They had this same thing happen with the parking garage build for the Cleveland casino a while back, if you'll recall. No loss-of-work injuries though.

A classic during a "live" news conference on site. A lady driving a bus starts blowing her horn then almost runs over the reporters. She then gets out and starts telling everyone she has a job to do and they need to move. All this while camera's are rolling.

Did anybody just see the bus hit the 9 News van during the press conference and the the driver give the reporters heck for being in the way and causing the accident . she almost took out the press conference
It was a bad place to hold the press conference, it was at the southwest corner of the Greyhound station, the enterance. The bus driver was right!
