Good game to see tonight, nip and tuck most of the way.

There are a few more things that need to be done in the Fieldhouse, but the present upgrades have definitely given it a new feel.

The "State champs 2009" wall is very nice.

Although I couldn't get a pic of it Coach L also walked down the Cov Cath students line and slapped hands....nuff said.

I saw a few players say hello to him prior to the varsity game. I'm sure it meant a lot to him.

So what is the tie breaker if all three teams deadlock in the District?

Pretty sure it's a coin flip.

Is Bolden "Bettle"? #3?

Correct.

Nice shot of our friend Walter.

Which one?

No clue on how many Holmes missed. I was baffled as to why they kept chucking outside shots which doesn't appear to be their strength.

The "Holmes effect" was definitely in play on the missed shots but it's not what you think. I'm not referring to the contested shots. I'm referring to the uncontested shots when CCH "thought" Holmes was going to try to block and changed their shot. Find some film if you can. It was crazy.

Agreed. Palmer could've got in the lane all night and got easy shots if he wanted, along with the other Holmes guards but they continued to settle for threes at times. When they got the ball inside good things happened.

Holmes is a streaky 3 pt shooting team. Coston definetly had an off night, along with Palmer as far as outside shooting goes. Those two, along with Martin and Rice are usually good for atleast one a game.

I thought the student section battle was outstanding last night. The numbers for CCH were smaller than usual, but they went sweater vests in honor of Coach L. The Holmes section was only made up of 20 or so students, but they battled back. There was a mutual respect by both sections and they looked like they were having fun. The hand slaps at the end were a great way to end their very respectful, fun-filled interaction.

Other than Ruthsatz that's the kid that got me most excited about his potential. That kid is smooth.
Has anyone seen the 8th grader from Holy Cross?

I thought the refs called a pretty good game overall but the last call seemed to be more of a loose ball foul. Both players had their hands on the ball, the Holmes player just tryed to shoot it from his waist and probably looked like a foul to the ref. It's a shame that the game ended that way instead of someone hitting a last second shot. From what I've seen so far this year both teams will have an awfully tough time with Holy Cross. I won't see Boone County until tonight but HC looks the best to me so far.

Don't want to soften the spirit of the thread but hats off to both student sections for their sportsmanship after the contest.

For as long as I can remember there has been a cordiality between Holmes and Cov. Cath. I remember several years ago when Cov. Cath. was playing a regional game against Highlands the Holmes squad walked by the Cov. Cath. student section to find a place to watch the game (they played the next night). Arrez Henderson was welcomed like a rock star, and that was a couple of days after he had smoked the Colonels in the District championship.

If you mean McClendon then yes.

Covcath has no one to blame but themselves.

You can not miss that many shots at the rim against a good team and win.

The game would not have come down to that call ( a bad one IMO) if you had taken care of business.

CovCath looked like deer in highlights at the beginning of the game, where alot of the shoots were missed.

I can easily see 3 teams with one lost each, and I believe will make it a blind draw.
