No sour grapes here. Just calling it how I see it... The foul whistled on the Colonels with a couple ticks left on the clock to set up the game winning free throws was BOGUS. After a hard fought game by both teams, this game was destined to be decided in overtime and no doubt should have been. This was completely an anticipation call made by the official that robbed the chance for this game to be decided on the floor. Boooooo Hisssssss. Sure, there's got to be a winner and a loser, but with this being such an important seeding game, the players and the fans deserved better. What a lame deflated flat tire way to end the game. :irked:

And there you have it Walter.

Nice win for Holmes new assistant coach. Perhaps his player scouting insights were part of the difference?

And there you have it Walter.

Walter knows deep down it was lame that's why he threw it out there first. Still no reason for it to be overlooked as if it wasn't a game deciding call.

Two biggest challenges when you play Holmes are , in order, Palmer and Knox.

Palmer and Knox both played well tonight with Rice on foul trouble and not able to play as aggressive.

Rice really made a difference defensively though. Several nice blocks and had big rebounds. I don't understand why he wasn't isolated more. CCH had nobody that could defend him off the dribble or one on one.

For the Colonels I was impressed with Frederick and Ruthsatz. Very good players that complement eachother well.

I honestly didn't see the play because of so many bodies around the play. Only thing I saw was Martin attempt to put up another shot and him react as if contact was made.

To say one team won or lost though because of ONE call is BOGUS.

I noticed Coach L up more than a handful of times shouting out instructions to the Holmes players defensively. Players decide the outcome but having a coaching staff like Holmes has is definetly an advantage when things arent going well.

Got to give CCH credit for being competitive considering every game they play is 5 on 7.

We can split hairs on this forever. I certainly can appreciate that there are more elements to any game that decide a game. Just as Clyde mentioned, if the Colonels would've just made a couple of more layups. But ultimately at this point of the game with everything on the line and the Colonels giving steady concentration from a defensive stand point, I'd expect a bit more steady concentration from the officials too.

.

Rice had 2 fouls early but still played in the first half after he got them. He didn't get this third until the 4th quarter. He didn't finish any shot that was contested. Maybe he just had an off game.

Knox was a load on the block and knows how to use that wide body.

Again, let me remind you.

12+ missed shots at the rim for CCH.

good point...even tougher for them

Chalk one up for Coach L against his former team. How did the CovCath Sr's do?

No player shot well for CCH. I will be curious to hear the team %.

Clint Massie is quickly becoming a key player for the Colonels. Gets to the rim with ease.

Conner Cleves, as always, passed well and plays hard D. Didn't shoot well.

Hayden saw limited minutes due to his ankle injury.

Ruthsatz didn't shoot well tonight but still made some great shots. His passing is his best attribute.
