Holmes 13 17 14 13 57

Covington Catholic (11-5) -- Tobler 16, Ruthsatz 13, Frederick 11, Massie 6, Pauly 5, Cleves 2, Ward 2.

Holmes (12-3) -- Palmer 14, Knox 13, Martin 9, Rice 9, Coston 8, Bolden 2, Lewis 2.

Thanks Q!

One of the best matchups I have seen this year with Ruthsatz vs. Palmer. Both very good defenders and heady players. Palmer pretty much bird dogged him all night and that's what you have to do against Ruthsatz. Ruthsatz is a VERY good guard who is like a coach on the floor. He was serving up dimes on silver platters and his teammates cost him alot of assists by missing point blank range layups. He has great vision and CCH will have a good team as long as he is on this team. He did make a silly reach in foul about 65 feet from the basket late which was not a good decision, but he doesn't make many of those. Palmer played a great game as well. Hope I get to see that matchup again. I think I will................great game by both teams tonight.

Got to give CCH credit for being competitive considering every game they play is 5 on 7.

You can't be serious. While I agree with CCH having some bad calls go against them in this game, Clyde is correct in saying if the CCH guards play smarter they don't pick up some of those cheap fouls.

And last I checked, Holmes had kids in foul trouble as well. Again...let's not act like the refs cost one team the game. You have to make plays...bottom line.

We can split hairs on this forever. I certainly can appreciate that there are more elements to any game that decide a game. Just as Clyde mentioned, if the Colonels would've just made a couple of more layups. But ultimately at this point of the game with everything on the line and the Colonels giving steady concentration from a defensive stand point, I'd expect a bit more steady concentration from the officials too.

Unless you had the refs view, you truly don't know if it was a foul or not. Regardless of the call, the ref was in a great position to make it. Holmes got hammered down low more than a handful of times and Rice even got pushed out bounds on a drive that git no call but I guess you won't bring that up since it didn't happen at the end...right? Both teams had to play with the same officiating. CCH never should've even had an opportunity to tie the game if you really want to get in depth. Holmes had the ball with time winding down and had a silly turnover that was unforced.

Again, let me remind you.

12+ missed shots at the rim for CCH.

Care to give us the stat of how many Holmes missed at the rim? And I guess Holmes players leaping to contest had nothing to do with those missed shots either?

Walter reading this site every time they lose the stripes do them in. Sarcasm...

Ruthsatz didn't shoot well tonight but still made some great shots. His passing is his best attribute.

Agreed with the passing comment. Very good court vision.

Wasn't there because of a business trip, so I won't comment on anything that happened in the game. The 35th district is too close to call. It will be interesting to see how it is seeded if HC beats Holmes and then CCH beats HC. Does anyone know? It could definitely happen. The #1 seed in the 35th is going to be huge come tourney time. One regional contender is going to be eliminated.

Congrats to Holmes. Did rhe Frosh boys, Bolden or Covington, get on the court?

Bolden is a regular contributor and saw a good amount of mins tonight but honestly should've played more. So smooth for his age.

Covington doesn't play much unless the game is out of hand.
