Agree. When I check out at Wal-Mart, just about everyone has Ale-8 in thier cart. Personally I don't drink it, I am a coffee drinker, but my son loves it. I buy it by the case.

 

When I meet new BGP'ers at a home game, I try and always treat them to a Ale-8.

My favorite thing to do is get an ALE8 polar pop. Tastes great and lasts a long time.

Really? I picked up some a while back at the Kroger in Frankfort. It was not as good as I recall, but I'll allow that some of my tastes have changed over time. When I picked it up, I was only drinking Diet Cokes, which I have since abandoned and the Cheerwine seemed way too sweet as a result. I first discovered it when I went away to WKU. I think you can find it a lot of places in Central Ky from I-64 south.

 

I enjoy the occasional orange soda now and haven't had a Diet Coke (other than with whiskey) in a while, so I may be able to handle Cheerwine again.

I love cherry Coke, cherry 7-Up, and now cherry Dr. Pepper. Cheerwine is ALWAYS good in my book. BTW...Cheerwine + bourbon in the right ratio makes a decent poor man's manhattan.

I'm almost positive the record store I go to keeps it in the cooler.

Ski has almost definitely never made it that far north. I rarely even see it in Louisville. It's bottled in Green County and is a citrus drink of the Mt Dew and Mello Yellow vein -- but much, much better. You may have heard of Ski and didn't realize it -- ever heard the song "Dumas Walker" by The Kentucky Headhunters?

Though some people mistakenly believe that the Ski in the line is a shortened version of "whiskey" -- it is in fact referring to the soft drink. As an aside, two of the members of The Kentucky Headhunters Fred Young (drummer with the coonskin cap) and Richard Young (guitar player with glasses) are my cousins. Great guys!
