That is my understanding. Last game I attended was just before Christmas; there were 3 or 4 guys not dressed on the bench; 2 on crutches including Black, but not Harris. My info about Harris not returning is second-hand, though.

 

My info is at least second hand, but heard Joker may have "suggested" that he not play basketball.

Mason County hits only 7-14 free throws in this one. A recurring problem at home; I've been to 2 games this year - both at the Fieldhouse - and the combined FT shooting was 13-28 in those games. Good job by the Camels down the stretch, outscoring Mason County 14-5 the last 4 minutes and hitting 12-13 FTs for the game.

Just curious and not trying to cast any blame, but what has happened to the atmosphere in The Fieldhouse? In all the years that I have been to there, I always remember it always being a great crowd of fans and especially students. The student section was non-existent and there really was no home court advantage last night. Outside of the band playing, you could've heard a pindrop in that place. The Fieldhouse, as I recall, used to just have an atmosphere that said KY high school basketball.

It's still a home court advantage if they're playing at home.

Obviously, in the literal sense, if you play at home, you have a "home-court" advantage. But, there are many additional facets to that "advantage" that can be gained by having a favorable crowd that is engaged in what is taking place on the court. Sometimes those things can be disruptive for a visiting team especially when the teams are in a close game or evenly matched, which is how those teams appeared to me. That was simply not the case last night from the atmosphere I observed.

We talked during the game about that same thing. Very small crowd for Mason County last night. "Build it and they will come" have a losing season and they won't!

I have attended quite a few basketball games over the last several years. This seems to be a wide reaching issue with many high school games. Not sure what is going on. Perhaps, many more options for the kids these days.

Attendance has been shrinking for a few years. I have seen very good teams who get very little support. I just feel that the games aren't the social event they were back in the day with kids having access to all of the social media.

I have talked to people that say Josh Harris will be back. Tyler Black went to the doctor today so hopefully he gets good news.

Late game Free throws and decision making (Turnovers) are killing Mason. We just threw the ball out of bounds about five times on players not looking or cutting the wrong direction. Mason has just given the Scott and Campbell games away. Without two starters, this team has to play good defense, handle the ball (turnovers) and hit Free Throws and simply we have not done it.

Its too bad CC doesnt have more of a supporting cast for McGovney. I dont think they have the depth to make a deep run but Nate is a really fun player to watch. He has really improved his shot this year and his body control is superb.

 

Is McGovney the best player in the 10th this year? He seems to be really improved, I haven't seen him play this year yet.

Top 5 player in the 10th probably with very little argument but would have to give the nod to best player to Prewitt from Montgomery County. You could make a solid argument for either McGovney or Monroe from PC as 2nd best player in the 10th.

 

Not a knock on any of these players but 10th is way down from past 4-5 years as far as individual talent and quality of the teams.

Getting Black back fairly soon would be big. Getting Black and Harris back would be HUGE. In a balanced 10th, one or both will make a difference.
