I expect the Bengals to come out unprepared and have a ton of drive killing or extending penalties depending on which side of the ball they are on. These factors will keep them from winning the game. I say 24-14 but I hope I'm wrong.

Lewis will not have them prepared and he will make the same gutless decisions he made today. I expect a lot of hype for the fans but if they win it will only be because of Daulton and Green.

Catching Houston in the state they are in may be their saving grace.

They have one of the sexiest candidates for a head coaches position as their D coordinator and an major upgrade from years past calling plays. Preparation is not the problem.

Bengals could not have asked for a better first round game. Experience may end up killing them, but I do believe they have a good shot at winning.

Having 2 4th and inches with at that point your whole season on the line and you punt both times. That is the definition of trying to play not to lose.

And in the same game the Giants and Cowboys have been stuffed on 4th and inches. Hell, the Bengals needed a yard one time and didn't get it. What makes anyone think they'd get those two times?

Well, they sure weren't going to get it punting. You can't coach by the book all the time when your season is on the line and you've been punched in the mouth and are reeling in your last game.

Not to mention you are at home. Heck, run a sneak on the goose or something. Those long drawn out running plays to Cedric Benson who runs like Rudy Johnson used to (standing straight up) are ridiculous. If he would get his pad level lower than the DL's who were blowing the offensive lineman back, he could likely get that yard.

I feel like the Bengals have a good chance of winning this game....but since they have not won a playoff game since the Bush administration--the first Bush administration, I'll take the Texans 17-14.

I understand your point Crash, but the problem here for me is that Marvin is almost always this conservative. I can't think of many times he has rolled the dice, and honestly sometimes that can make a huge difference(either way) in a game. If the Bengals face 4th and anything on their side of the 50 there is no question that Marvin will punt...every...time.

Bengals win by 4. 13-9. Teams are hard to beat twice in a season, and I think this being a playoff game makes it even more difficult for the Texans to get much going against Bengals run defense. I can only hope Ray Rice showed some holes they need to patch up before the best rushing duo in the game today gets a chance to run all over them. Andre Johnson is set to play 45-50 snaps after being eased this week according to CBS. His play, IMO, dictates the whole game. It'll mark the difference between being able to key in on the run and have the D play on their heels.

I agree Marvin is conservative. However Marvin has been much more aggressive this year than any other year for his standards.

I think playing the Broncos would have been a better first round game for them. Broncos don't score much and their defense is not as good as the Texans. Shoot basically nothing about the Broncos is better than what the Texans offer. However I do agree it is a good match up for them and a game they can win.
