College basketball bores me until March. Mediocre players on mediocre teams is all I see.

Same I only watch UK. I couldn't even sit through a Duke-UNC game that is not in the ACC tourney. Until March roles around I don't care.

You obviously aren't watching the Clippers and Rockets right now. CP3 is throwing oop after oop....10 assists with 5 minutes left in the 3rd......one on one though.....

Watching a guy throw a ball 15 feet in the air, and have a guy jump up and grab and dunk is not exciting basketball either. Especially when it looks so easy for them to do it. I am not arguing that they are the best in the world. However since they are the best in the world it makes it also boring to watch for many people, because they make it look so easy. It's like dating a girl, if you usually know you have them right away and there is no challenge after awhile the quicker it gets boring after awhile. Most people like that chase because its a challenge, because for some reason most people always like a challenge even more because its more exciting you never know what to expect. In the NBA you know its going to be a lot of points, little defense, and guys just making it look easy. While in college you don't know what to expect as much because it does not come as easy for them.

(Hmmm after looking at what I just wrote, the comparison sounded much better in my head then how I actually explained it. But oh well I am going to keep it anyways and not delete it haha.)

I hear you. I do think more defense is played that the NBA gets credit for. We are talking about world class basketball players who should be able to score in most ways possible. For me watching them score is a joy but there is still plenty of defense played in the league.

Alley oops are always exciting. Especially when they are being thrown from half court, behind the back, no look or behind the head. Alley oops are awesome. And they defy the 'one on one' mantra of the NBA.

The unintentional alley oop from Wade to LeBron remains the single greatest play I have seen in basketball.

Watching Kobe, Durant, Dirk etc operate from 17-25 foot is a thing of beauty.

Watching DRose penetrate and score...pause....is electrifying.

Watching Rondo push the limits of what a point guard should do is amazing.

I could go on and on....give me all of that before college ball.

I likely won't watch a full Duke game until they get to conference play unless it is a big game like the Ohio State/Kansas/Michigan State/Temple games. And I quit watching last night.

Bron and Wade might be out tonight. The Hawks should crush them if that is the case.

Lakers and Blazers tonight should be a good one on TNT.

These days, over Bryant's right wrist also rests a fat postgame ice wrap roughly the size of rookie guard Andrew Goudelock, Bryant trying in vain to minimize swelling after acting on the court as if there isn't a torn ligament in there.

Bryant has been taking a numbing injection to that wrist before every game in hopes of performing normally. Yes, it's that bad.

He does not want to publicize all the details of his wrist, which is usable only because the bones were not moved permanently out of alignment without the ligament to hold them in place. But it's now clear just how problematic the wrist is, and it's fair to wonder where all this will take Bryant.

Bryant walked out of Staples Center on Tuesday night with something that looked like an oven mitten over his right hand and wrist. He wears an immobilizing brace over the wrist when off the court, meaning take-for-granted parts of life such as texting on his phone or zipping his fly become rather challenging.

Dude can't zip his fly! And he's shooting on it! He's shooting in an NBA game without the ability to zip his fly. That's pretty much the craziest thing we've read about Bryant's devotion... this week.

Of course this would happen the one season he comes in very healthy. I don't see this ending good at all.

^

I don't either. The more I hear about it the more I wonder if he should do something now rather than miss the playoffs because it is unbearable

As for zipping his fly....big deal. He cheated with over 100 women in 10 years. Surely someone can zip his fly for him.

Of course, it's not a given LA will be in the playoffs.

And yes, Kobe is one of the toughest and most resilient competitors and athletes I have seen in any sport. It is admirable.

Yeah, once I saw that info I bagged my fantasy experiment and put my players in tonight. Josh Smith and Joe Johnson.

Kobe needs the surgery now. If he doesn't and the Lakers make any kind of run this year, it will be the end of Kobe IMO. Fast-paced schedule mixed with a tough injury and another 30,000 miles on his knees would be tough for him going forward.

I'd get the surgery now, let the front office figure out which direction they want to go tradewise and come back healthy, even if it cost me the playoffs this year.

I think as long as he's averaging 26 points 6 assists and 6 rebounds he'll be alright.

Can he keep that up? And at what cost? Does he really want the Lakers to get DHoward and then be a shell of his former self? Kobe is the oldest guy in the history of the world for a 33 year old guy.
