December 25, 201114 yr Going to be tough for him to bounce back from that with his bruising style of running.
December 25, 201114 yr What's the recovery time for a fully blown out knee? I'm assuming 9 months or so?
December 25, 201114 yr What's the recovery time for a fully blown out knee? I'm assuming 9 months or so? Everyone is different, could be back by training camp if he has surgery right away. With that said I think it takes a full year to fully recover.
December 25, 201114 yr What did Wes Welker injure in his knee when he got hurt a couple of year's ago?
December 25, 201114 yr Author As a running back who takes a lot of punishment, I would say he sits all of 2012 and sees if he can come back 100% after that.
December 25, 201114 yr No way he plays next year. Typically just ACL is 9 months. I'm pretty sure an MCL takes longer.
December 25, 201114 yr No way he plays next year. Typically just ACL is 9 months. I'm pretty sure an MCL takes longer. Mcl takes about a month to two months with a complete tear, it heals itself but with the acl might as well patch it up while fixing the acl. I'll be surprised if he misses all of 2012 with the acl the likes of Wes Welker coming back with no problem running and cutting.
December 25, 201114 yr No way he plays next year. Typically just ACL is 9 months. I'm pretty sure an MCL takes longer. That would be wrong. The ACL is the more severe injury and takes longer to recover from. Everyone heals from ACL's differently, and I don't think he will miss the whole season. I could see him being on the PUP list for the first 6 games next year though. Which would have him return in late October. So that would give him 10 months.

I've torn every major ligament in my knee with the exception of the PCL. It really is a case to case thing but a full recovery I think takes about a year. With that said he won't rest in the off season and will likely be busting his butt to get back for 2012 if his doctors think he can. I would think he likely comes back and plays in a brace.

Yup as long as he doesn't have any problems with the graft they use then he should be fine. I mean if he has the surgery within a week then it would be just over 9 weeks til the first regular season. IMO the question will be if he can get it to heal quickly, but I would look for Peterson to come back strong as ever phsyically.
December 25, 201114 yr What a shame. I know he has had some silly comments made via Twitter (something about NFL owners being comparable to slave owners or somewhere in that realm), but I'm not sure how anyone could not love the way he plays the game. One of the best athletes in the NFL since he stepped in, and I'm really sorry this happened. Guess he's glad that he didn't hold out on contract negotiations until after this season.

You are correct, I was thinking PCL. That was what a friend of mine tore, and like to never got over it.
