Air Jordan Release Shuts Down Websites

Featured Replies

I wasn't aware there was a new Air Jordan being released. I've read reports today of websites crashing and stores being trashed when people stomred the doors looking for the shoes.

Wow, idiots.

The shoes cost about $180. When you factor in the price and everything they had to go through, we asked people if it was really worth it:

'To make my nieces and nephews happy for Christmas? Yes. It's worth getting trampled over just to get them what they need.'

I don't personally know a single person that needs a $180 pair of Jordans. And I don't know about anyone else, but I've got 5 nephews, and I wouldn't even dream about spending $180 on any of them for Christmas. That's just ridiculous.

I can't find where anyone was killed. I saw where there was a hoax about a kid killed in Virginia/DC.

The "need" jumped out to me as well.

I earn a very nice income. Never once had a pair of shoes that cost $180.

I can relate somewhat. I remember how excited we were when the Chuck Taylors expanded their color choices from black or white to navy.

Wonder what shenanigans were pulled in those days. Pulled fire alarm, ding dong ditch, wedgies???

Not really into sneaks like some people. Can't really understand why someone would want shoes so bad, but to each their own. I hate seeing people get hurt over something like this though.

Speaking of wedgies when I was a freshman I got pulled to the back of the bus and some varsity boys decided a wedgie was in order. It was either them being extra-aggressive or the cheap underwear my mom bought me but the entire elastic band became detached from my tighty whities.
