December 20, 201114 yr The live-action, blasphemous, Jim Carrey film or the wonderful, animated, TV special narrated by Boris Karloff? I definitely prefer the Karloff version. But I have to admit, much to your chagrin, that I do like Opie Cunningham's version too.

December 21, 201114 yr You said in another thread you don't like crap movies and immediately invalidate that post with this one. Elf is hysterical. Deschanel and Farrell are hilarious in pretty much anything. Put him in a giant green leotard and you've got comedic gold.
December 21, 201114 yr While not movies centered around a Christmas theme, I will nominate Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. Bad Santa is one of my all time favorites. Animated I really enjoy The Nightmare Before Christmas. Any love for The Ref?

December 21, 201114 yr Elf is hysterical. Deschanel and Farrell are hilarious in pretty much anything. Put him in a giant green leotard and you've got comedic gold. Ferrell is great in roles like what he played on SNL, Old School, or in Eastbound and Down. He absolutely cannot carry a movie and his jokes begin to fall flat. I'm in love with Deschanel, but even with that included it simply is a bad movie.
