Brossart 57 Holmes 54

Featured Replies

Walter, Holmes pressed the entire game and had success at times, but Brossart hurt them in the half court.

The Bulldogs couldn't get tempo and Brossart did their thing in the half court which is where they had the advantage.

Brossart just too big and strong in the post and they made open shots when they had them.

Brossart's defense is underrated. They play a strong switching man to man and can funnel drivers to their big kids.

Brossart's ball handling is not all that great against full court man pressure, but against zone press they have enough size to throw over top or see over top.

Was impressed with 14 and 33 for Brossart.

They will be a tough out in the district/region, because of the style they play.

Very methodical in the half court and tend not to beat themselves.

Holmes will be fine as the season progresses, but they need more from Rice.

I think we get the point its been mentioned 3 times. Stangs didnt seem to miss a beat. Fardo/Saunders are strong handlers and it helps having some bigs to throw to over the press.

You must count different than I do?? :D

Sure sounded like Holmes pressed most of the game on the broadcast, but then I wasn't there in person. Sounded like Holmes might have gotten a little impatient at times on offense, and that BB had a good gameplan against the press? Guessing both teams will benefit from this game, and be better as the season goes on. Good luck to both, and congrats to the Mustangs on the win!!

Great game last night! Holmes was never really in this game until the last 2 minutes. Joe Jennings was a beast! So proud of how this young man has turned out. He was a B team project in 8th grade and has come a long, long way! The Trentman boys were fun to watch as well. Brossart has so much height; Holmes just didn't have an answer for them. Sophomores really stepped up last night including Nate Verst handling the ball in place of injured Ben Uebel. The others did an ok job but Verst is definitely the go-to guy in Uebel's absence.

On a side note, after sitting behind the bench for the JV game, I am dumbfounded as to why CC ever let Scott Code slip through their fingers.

Perfect example of how the B team has value.

Exactly!. One mention from a comment pulled from a different thread. BTW, Q, the starting point who didnt play was Ben Uebel.

Wait..what? BB's point guard didn't play?

Think we've now surpassed Q's original exaggeration?? :D

My understanding is that Brossart's starting point guard, Ben Uebel, didn't play in this one.

Oh, sorry. Somebody already beat me to the punch.

They didn't like his style of winning. :D

Three consecutive winning seasons and out.

For some reason Brossart seams to be 10-15 pts better at home.

Some teams are. I have always believed in home court advantage.

Far from true historically????

I figured as much. Someone mentioned he was on crutches over the weekend. Is it longterm?
