spindoc Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Raceland wins in 4th quarter. RH ahead by 6 at half, 4 in third. Rams went up by as much as 9 in 4th and Royals cut it to 2 with 56 seconds left and Tolliver made 1 of 2 to put Rams up by 3. Royals got the ball to Euton for 3 with 11 seconds and was blocked (looked like a foul to me) and a runout gave them a 5 point win. Tim Fraley went berzerk. I think that most who were in attendance would agree it was a horrible officiated contest.
Bandit29 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I guess anytime you lose it is always the refs fault? Both teams were double bonus. Something should be done to the Rose Hill coaching staff for their actions following the game, it was very, very, classless no matter what, especially considering what kind of school they repersent. :fire: :fire: :fire:
Nothingbutnet Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Well this game just goes to show you how far the Royals have come so far this year!! I think that this team is going to be hard to beat in the years to come and will give some teams a game (as tonight) this season. They will only get better and more experienced!!

Typical RH style. :jump: Evidently this coach has never had to Ref any kind of sport.
LRCW Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 . Typical RH style. :jump: Evidently this coach has never had to Ref any kind of sport. Exactly what is that supposed to mean?
Statmaster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 There was no foul on that block. He got it after it left his hands. Euton is a very good player , but he gets no lift on his shot. It was blocked after it left his hands. If you want to say refs cost Rose Hill you are wrong. They could call a push off on Euton every time he moves with the ball. His off arm is always pushing the defender away.
Armchair Coach Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Tolliver does a good job for Raceland running the point.I thought RH played a good game.As far as what happened at the end of the game with the fans their is no excuse for that.RH wants that big win(a quality 16th region team) so badly that emotions sometimes collide with rational action. However make no mistake about it Coach Fraley has them playing very hard.I look for them to beat Breathitt today and then tomorrow give Greenup or Fairview a heck of a game.
spindoc Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Once again, I didn't say that the refs cost Rose Hill the game, read the post without adding your little twist on what I said. I happened to be sitting right where I could see the shot by Euton very clearly and the kid got him with the body. Quite frankly, I may have not called that myself. I said that the game was poorly officiated. I DID NOT say it was one sided. Look, I don't know how many of you have had any kind of schooling in officiating, but one of the primary things you learn is that the official who has the play coming at him is the one that makes the call. Not the one that is at half court 45 feet from the play. This happened to BOTH teams more than once in this contest.
Uncle Jed Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I guess anytime you lose it is always the refs fault? Both teams were double bonus. Something should be done to the Rose Hill coaching staff for their actions following the game, it was very, very, classless no matter what, especially considering what kind of school they repersent. I was at the game and I didn't see the coaching staff do anything that has not been done by other coaches after losing a close game. I don't think the fefs caused Rose Hill the game, but they were a factor. Rose Hill showed they can play with teams in this region. As for the comment about the kind of school they represent. I think they represented the school well. I have heard this more than once from other schools. Being a Christian school does not mean they have to be weak. It has been a common misunderstanding that players, coaches and fans can say anything they want to and about this team and they must not fight back. The players and the coaches of this team will not back down to anyone.
spindoc Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 sounds to me that bandit whose location is on the court, blowing the whistle, making the call, is a little defensive about officiating. I do hope that he was not one of the officials there last night blowing the whistle (over top of his partner who had just called a jumpball and said that no, he heard a timeout called before the whistle of his partner sounded) or making the call ( when he had yet to cross half court and called traveling on a kid that was 3 feet from his partner who was under the goal).
Rickyp Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 If Rose Hill converts their free throws in the 4th quarter then officiating doesn't matter. I thought the younger official was intimidated by Johnson, he blew his whistle everytime Johnson hollered. But RH had a 10 point lead and missed too many free throws. I guess that should be expected from such a young team.
spindoc Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Actually, the whole throat slashing gesture from coach Tim is an automatic $10,000 fine in the NFL. I couldn't help but chuckle. He was fired up!

That's why there are 2 whistles on the floor, if they see it...call it. Thought Jackson walked when he slid on the floor while holding the ball, illegal screen by Bush to free up Euton on the final shot, push off on Euton to get open.
spindoc Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 You know what's funny is that I graduated from Raceland and I never knew that we were so defensive. I made a simple statement about the officiating and folks feel attacked. Maybe they are all a bit paranoid. Don't recall stating that the calls were against or for the Rams.
