It's more like they're going to the perpetual funeral that is this season.

ESPN actually had a special about this last week. Had a spokeman from Under Armor that said it was all driven by the players and is often used as a recruiting tool. UK needs all the help they can get at this point.

 

But, the new unis are why they're getting such good recruits...oh... never mind.....

No one has ever said that it is the sole reason for success. However, it is a part of it, if you can't see that it's simply a refusal to do so.

UK imo will futher embarrass the program by wearing black uni's, UK colors are

BLUE/WHITE......not black!! I could give a rats patoot less what they say, to this old school guy tradition means something and the only tradition that UK has in football are the school colors.

Joker says he wants everyone to wear black to get some excitement in Commnwealth :ohbrother: . Want excitement Coach?? Try getting players and Win some games- what a concept !! :lol:

 

On another note wearing black may be appropriate, it symbolizes tragedy or death.

I really don't have a problem with it. If the kids wanna wear them, I'm fine with it. School colors or not, This teams only tradition is getting beat down by every SEC team every weekend. You have to start somewhere. And people that claim that it had no effect on recruits, Obviously never played sports. We all wanted to look good.

Another sad commentary regarding this football team, when fans and players care more about black unis instead of improved play.

I agree coach. As I said earler, try getting more than two legit D1 players and actually beat someone.

If the players want it, let it be. Male is having a PINK OUT, but I'm wearing a black heavy coat, my Pink one is at the Cleaners.

Here is another angle. The coach and the athletic director keep whining about the program needing money, facilities, etc. And then they go out and spend money on uniforms that will be worn 1 time this year?????????

Is it really that big of a deal guys? Just because we aren't very good, its still about the players, and the players want to wear black. It can't hurt to try something new. If the black uni's can get the team fired up for a pivotal game, then let's do it. In all seriousness, if we can come out an win this game, we still have a chance at a bowl game. It's just a color on a jersey, and its not like we are going to make them our permanent jersey. People didn't throw a huge fit over the black uni's for basketball a few years ago, so why make a huge deal out of this? Yes, UK wore the basketball uniforms for mourning purposes, but the football team is wearing them for confidence and to try to boost morale and fan support. There's my rant for today. Lol. I just hope we give a good showing today. MSU isn't very good this year so maybe these jerseys can be miracle workers and get us a W.

This is no different than baseball wearing gray jerseys for road games. Ive never seen the color gray with the Braves or Yankees.
