UK to unveil black uniforms against Miss. State

Featured Replies

Unfortunately, the UK football team is going BFBS this weekend. This means "black for black sake." This is one of my biggest pet peeves about college athletics nowadays...if black is not in your school colors, why is there such a need to wear black uniforms? Oh and the UK ones look just as hideous as one could imagine...makes me wanna vomit looking at them.

I don't have a problem with it. Just bought an authentic black kentucky zip up hoody on Saturday that has the black letters on it. It was pricey but even as just a fan I liked the change, it's some thing different. Some people love it, others hate it.

Another sad commentary regarding this football team, when fans and players care more about black unis instead of improved play.

Agree with the black thingy. Not in the colors. It's a generation thing! My UK college kid loves it but not so much for me. Hate it especially at the high school level!

Look like Duke. Honestly, it's a shame considering how nice the unis are this year

ESPN actually had a special about this last week. Had a spokeman from Under Armor that said it was all driven by the players and is often used as a recruiting tool. UK needs all the help they can get at this point.

Will the new unis be a symbol for mourning or what?

:D That's my thought. Appropriate attire for the rest of the season.

I submitted the link to Paul Lukas of http://www.uniwatchblog.com and it will probably be posted to his blog tomorrow (Wed.). Lukas was also interviewed for that piece.

I don't like it unless your school color is black. But I guess Joker has to do something to get poeple to come back to the stadium.

To be fair to Joker, the players said this was going to happen during the pre-season.

This is so true! Maybe that's the problem, players are more excited about wearing black uniforms than winning games....How sad

But, the new unis are why they're getting such good recruits...oh... never mind.....

Winston Guy said if they were going to look like monsters they needed to play like monsters. Maybe it will give the players some extra will to play harder.

Go Big Black?:idunno:
