Note won't be much of a summary, only the scoring and a note or two, as it has been a busy weekend with my Daughter getting married yesterday.

 

First #69 Jake Henderson was the young man that had to carried off the field on a stretcher today and from I understand, it isn't looking good. Please say a prayer for him, as I believe it is a bad knee injury.

 

Gabe Gray broke a record that has stood at CovCath since 1969 when Rick Hornsby (now the Ludlow Head football Coach) scored 24 TD' in his Senior at CovCath. This record was tied by Jeremy Madden in 1997 but Gabe Gray broke this very long scoring record today with a TD in the 2nd quarter. Congrats young man you have and are having an outstanding year.

By winning this district seeding game vs. Covington Holmes today, the Colonels secure a first round home playoff game and will host I believe Rowan County on Saturday Nov 5th @ 1pm.

 

Next up for CovCath will be Conner at CovCath on Saturday Oct 29 @ 1pm. It will be Senior Day!

To be honest with you some of the Holmes coaches were at CovCath at around 12:30 but the team and the team bus didn't pull into CovCath until 12:45 for a 1pm game. Now I am not talking about being on the field at 12:45 but pulling into the parking lot at 12:45. I honestly was wondering, was Holmes going to show up!

TOG. What was up with that?????? The fans were so confused today. Also, why do teams continue to jump offsides on our field goal unit?

To the first: I have no idea why Holmes was so late, unless they were waiting for both players to show up. It reminds me of when Holmes showed up rather late waiting for D. Jefferson one year for a district basketball game at CovCath.

 

As far as being off-sides on PAT's, I have no answer for that either. This is the third team that has jumped off-sides on PAT attempts and they continued to do it time after time after time. I know CovCath is doing nothing wrong but my guess is with Talkers being so good they are doing everything in their power to stop him and that includes jumping early!

I hope Henderson is ok. I heard Bamberger did a great job replacing him.

I was told Holmes "warmed up" on their home field, then boarded the bus for the short trip up the road.
