Ok, all of those arguments are fine, but still NOBODY has answered my question.... Has anyone checked to see who is footing the bill at Trinity for Hicks? Just a simple question, I understand that he had to sit out a year because of the transfer rule and his parents still live in Shelby County I believe, but who is paying for his school bill at Trinity? I guess we don't care, but it could be a major implication when he goes to college and they wonder how he could afford attend a private school.....

 

 

When Hicks was a freshman at Shelby County we(Boyle County) played them at Shelby County. At the time the fans of Shelby County didn't stay confined to a 'home side' of the gym and we ended up sitting next to Daryl Hicks' mother and step father. Needless to say, his mom and my wife struck up a conversation and chatted the entire game. Without going into too much detail all I am going to say is that I will go ahead and speculate that based on some things that have happened in his life coming up with 100% legal tuition money for an education at Trinity shouldn't be a problem for his family. It is kind of insulting to even insinuate that they can't afford it and how they pay for it is truly none of your business or concern. Long story short, it's paid for by the same people who paid for it his first go around at Trinity. This is his second time there, correct?

Daryl Hicks sat out all of last year after transferring to Trinity. He served his time and is good to go now. Mentioning him is a waste of time. The issues he had with the three different schools are old news. When Shelby County and Collins came into existence he chose to go to Trinity and sit out a year and did so. He began his second year at Trinity when school started. He's legal. Period.

 

No one has transferred to Scott County recently so let that rest also. Last I saw a kid just transferred from Scott County.

 

I'd like to know how Christen Cunningham, David Kapinga and the Fox kid are elgible and Page isn't. That is what I want to know. This is what is happening right now. There are some other transfers I am sure of also. Didn't a kid just leave Madison Central for Jeffersontown?

 

I have no problem with his eligibility here, he did sit out as per the KHSAA rules. If his family is payng full boat on the tuition I have no issue with the Hicks transfer to Trinity. Not sure what tuition is but I would guess it is near 10K per year.

I heard that he tried to go to Logan, WV but he could not play there due to not having enough or correct academic credits. That may be the same problem here in KY. I believe there is a connection between the coaching staff at Logan, WV and Perry Co Central.

Correct but Allan Hatcher used to also coach in West Virginia and I want to say was at Marshall County WV before coming to PCC.

Allan Hatcher has coached at several different schools, one in Ohio and one in West Virginia. He's also coached at three schools in Kentucky ... Marshall County, Graves County and Perry Central.

HAZARD, Ky. -- Sources have told Bluegrass Sports Report that Perry County Central transfer Jaysean Paige has been ruled ineligible by the KHSAA.

 

Paige, a high-flying guard from Jamestown, N.Y., was expected to lead the Commodores to their second straight Sweet 16 appearance this season. However, it looks as if they will have to find another way back to Rupp Arena.

I guess they got bad info maybe, the page was taken down. I hope they were wrong. I hate to see a kid go through all of that and still can't play.

I haven't heard any updates, but like I said in post # 29, if his biological mother has moved with him and set up residency in Perry County (with a job as well I hear) I don't know how he couldn't be eligible unless the KHSAA has some kind of proof that he was recruited.
