You have 5 seniors on the squad that have DII or NAIA schools looking at them to further there education and keep playing a sport they love and you are worried about what happens next year??? They can work on next year from Jan. 2nd when they start work outs and agilities til the dead period! Sounds like you might be a fan of the winning, not of the program!

Jeff Marksberry is a quality man & coach that loves his kids and program. Sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone!

Last night they finally let Derek Mills play on offense at TE and was running routes. But I just seen him last Saturday with a cast on his hand how is he supposed to catch? SK also had another player playing with a separated shoulder. SK has over 70 players why play a kid that is hurt and that could cause a more serious injury to them when you have plenty of other players that are healthy.

 

I have had a seperated shoulder since my sophomore year in high schools, along with a torn labrum. I can still bench over 300 lbs and would have not problems tackling some one. Seperated shoulder is something a football player can play with and its not just Coach Marksberry deciding if a young man is healthy enough to play. Thats the job of the team doctor and trainers.

68-64 is not a very good record. Kind of hard to fire the head coach when he is the AD.

 

The principal in that situation would fire him as the head coach if they felt that was what the problem is. He has done good things at SK. If they got rid of him there would be a thread started a few years later wishing they never would have let him go.

I have no clue? I guess I am the only one that can't stand to see SK have such a bad season. SK is 2-6 three of those losses are clearly because of coaching! Onside kick with over 8 minutes in a game left. Running the ball out of the I-formation every play in the 3rd and 4th quarter let time run down when we could have been passing the ball down the field and try to win the game. Maybe I am clueless! I do know something needs to be done! Marksberry benched a good QB against Boone because his line can't block. SK's QB is only a Sophomore and if you ask me he has done a great job he has taken a lot of hits but keeps coming back. He has had to run a lot because of no blocking but he has rarely forced a pass for a INT a very smart kid. I think this kid will be very good his Junior and Senior year but it would just be nice if they could get him some protection for him.

Yep but back then their was probably only 8 to 10 Seniors on the team and about 40 players.

I do know now we have over 20 Seniors and 75 players we should be better than 2-6 there is no excuse for it!

The first thing they need to do is teach some O-linemen how to block. Maybe send them to a Higlands camp they are best at blocking.
