That's probably too high for both of them. Too many 4a, 5a and 6a schools that are more deserving. I could see Top 20-25 as best case scenario.

Like I said, Massey rankings are the best I have seen and pretty accurate. So I think those two are right about where they should be in the rankings.

After reviewing it, I believe that it sounds about right. The only spots there may be a slight argument for are differences between Lou St. X and Lou Manual, but that should be proven by the weekend. Other than that, sounds good overall. The teams in 4A and 5A that are proven to be better are ahead of both and I could see both teams likely beating the schools behind them.

I have done that and the scores they predict are very much on target almost every time I do it. They miss sometimes like all these rankings do, but not very often.

Scott County and Central are good possibilities, I would be comfortable with taking Beechwood and Mayfield against the rest though.

It's arguable, but Ashland is a very complete team this year. I wouldn't predict a win for either team, but Ashland is much better and a very balanced team this year. I expect them to beat Johnson Central and be the number one in the district.

I honestly think if Beechwood and Mayfield played right now it could go either way. But, in absence of that matchup I am just saying that I think Beechwood is number one. I have absolutely nothing against Mayfield and am certainly not a "hater", we are debating number one, and the politically correct answer is to say "they could either one be number one", but I say take one, and my choice is Beechwood.

 

I agree Ram and that is basically what I was saying.

I am just glad to see a thread on Class A football get alot of discussion and attention. Class A means the schools are smaller, not less competitive or play a lower brand of football, I have seen plenty of games where the "Lil' Brother" embarrassed the big boys.

 

On another note I have a suggestion for a solution to end the controversey of who is #1, Beechwood or Mayfield. Lets put Fairview 1, Raceland 2 , that would most certainly get the discussion from Beechwood or Mayfield.
