Mythical Matchups...Who wins and why?

I know these teams aren't playing each other, but, hypothetically, if they did, who would win and why?

 

1) Highlands vs Bowling Green

2) NCC vs Central

3) Bell Co vs Mayfield

4) J.Hardin vs Cov Catholic

5) Lex Catholic vs W.Central

 

These would be some games I'd love to see. How would each game fare?

Highlands..because they have Towles

Central...because of depth

Bell Co...because of depth

Cov. Cath...to much offense for JH to handle

I would argue the Cov Cath vs John Hardin game. I've seen John Hardin in person and think they are good on both sides of the ball. Great combination of size and speed. Really stretch the field on offense.

It's hard to give an opinion because while I know alot about Mayfield, I know nothing of Bell Co.'s team

That would be 3 NKy teams, not 2, according to how he sees it..

I think the CCav-JHardin matchup would be a really good one. I'd probably go with Cov Cath in a close one, but, JH has the size in the lines to matchup and they're probably better defensively..

 

I think the Highlands/BGreen matchup would be very good, as well. Both have potent offenses and very good defenses. BG would likely have the edge in the trenches and skill players, whereas Highlands has the x factor in Towles and more overall team speed.. I think BG would win a close one..

 

I think Central has too much speed and athleticism for NCC..

 

Lex Cath offense would give WCentral fits and there D is good enough to get a few stops. I think Lex Cath would win a high scoring affair..

 

Mayfield's speed would also present problems for Bell Co, but, Bell's bigger line would give Mayfield trouble, too. I think the Cardinal defense would get enough stops to win..

Highlands wins

 

Cov Cath maybe wins but if they did it would only be because of their size and athleticism in the trenches. I'd probably say John Hardin wins more times than not if they're as good as advertised.

 

Central may beat NCC but the Breds have looked good early so I'd give them the nod.

 

Lex Cath wins

 

Mayfield wins with their speed.

1) I believe Highlands wins mainly because of Towles and believe he is that much of a difference maker.

 

2) NCC has been really good and I think it could be an interesting game, but I believe Central has a little too much for them.

 

3) Mayfield probably wins; Bell isn't the team they used to be and the Cardinals are probably too quick.

 

4) Cov Cath/John Hardin is a tough pick for me due to not knowing a lot about Hardin. However, after seeing the way Cov Cath played Highlands last Saturday, I believe this would be an excellent game and may be the best of this list.

 

5) I would take Lexington Catholic due to believing they have too much offensively.

By the way, if you watched the HHS Vs CC game you know HISTORY may not be enough. Im wondering if Highlands will get past CC next time around. NCC - Central could go either way but Im not yet sure NCC is as good this year as they have HISTORICALLY been as of late. Mayfield's speed should be plenty to get past Bell. Using HISTORY I would note that in recent HISTORY Mayfield has found that their speed is overwhelming to mountain teams. I think John Hardin, despite having much of a HISTORY, is one of the best in the state. Finally, having watched WC this year I have recent upclose HISTORY of their team this year and I think they are better than Lex Cath.

Highlands... because they are Highlands.

NCC...........because they just might be the a close 3rd and probably the 4th best team in the entire State.

Bell Cty......because if you are that determined to shoot down all 3 NKY powers then then I will give nobody that disrepects NKY football the way you do yr in and yr out a vote. LOL

CovCath......because CovCath is probably the 3rd best team in the State of KY. Besides JH is the same team that Highlands destroyed in the State Championship just 2yrs ago.

LexCath......because as a Highlands fan we learn very early on in this city to never disrepect a potential obstacle in the Drive for Five.
