Well......the only reason Beechwood is in this position is because they are so successful they are supposed to win every game they play except for maybe the Mayfield game (the past two seasons) and maybe the NCC game. Other than CovCath or Highlands most people expect Beechwood to beat EVERYBODY else they play regardless of class or size of school. So........not sure what the point you are trying to get at with your thread, but I guess the only way Beechwood can start winning games they are not supposed to is to lose more games and then upset some teams. :lol:

Well we disagree then on significant wins. Beating large schools to me is significant.

Define "anyone of signifigance" first so we can truly understand your point. Nobody in Fort Mitchell that I know of is saying BW "will win" the state title. We expect to contend for one every year in 1A and might be able to in a few other classes. That's all. Nothing more. I am still not sure what the 2.5 years window of time has to do with anything. I could say that BW will win the state title based on what we did 2.6 years ago and beyond but that does not provide an argument of any kind.

So beating SK last year or when Miles was there would not have been a big deal? It looks like we need to pick apart each team, each year, to see if the win is big enough? Shutting out a 6A school that has been a strong program recently is a big deal. This is a 1A school beating a 6A school, not a 4A like Highlands beating a 6A.

I agree 100%! There was ONLY one person on this board who was making SK out to be in for the title hunt this year. I said SK would lost to Beechwood by about 28, and wasn't it like 90% of people who voted picked Beechwood in that game? Last week I said in the prediction thread CCH by 12 but I was hoping I would be wrong, what was the margin at the end?

I agree. Beechwood and Mayfield are not your typical 1A teams. So what is a significant win? Beating a team in a higher class that is having a strong year? I still have not seen a anyone's view of what a significant win is based on the subject of the thread.

I thought it was spelled out in the 1st post what a significant win was, a game that you were not supposed to win or a toss up game. From what I have seen is that over the last 2.5 years BW has not performed in their typical fashion and what makes this year different? Unless you're looking through your Tiger glasses.

While I have my Tiger glasses on (which I might add are very cool) I would be more concerned about LOSING games we were not supposed to lose. The only thing I see different in the last 2.5 years that really matters is that we got to the semi-final game and not the championship game. I will blame Mayfield for that. They are very good. If BW beats 6A Dixie in 2 weeks will that be significant? NCC last game? I am not discounting the question. I am just trying to understand the perspective, that's all. I do not think the Beechwood program has been derailed if they are still going deep into the playoffs. The banners (and the team goals)are about State Championships not the number of wins and losses along the way to teams from a higher class. Snakeshot_2000, your question is valid from a overall record standpoint.

The way I see this snakeshot_2000 thinks Beechwood is supposed to win all games except maybe one or two a year. In that case maybe the Tigers need to schedule Trinity or Lasalle so they can play some teams "they are not supposed to beat.":rolleyes:

NCC will definitely count as a really good win should they be fortunate enough to be victorious.

 

Dixie will be a good win as well.
