A very interesting matchup. Kudos to Central for 'stepping up" to tangle with the Tigers - year after year.

I think this will be interesting to see that "IF" - Central is really up (or on the uptick) and X is allegedly "down" - what does all of that actually mean ???

Interested to see how this one goes.

Any word on X's QB? I heard he got banged up in the game with Moeller...

This is a must win for X. With T looming next week, the Tigers need a 3 TD win and no injuries. As good as Central is, I think X makes a statement in this one, 35-13.

I think you are on to something. Have read and heard a great deal about the will -fight - and determination of this X edition.

No question but that they have been tested. So a major hurdle I would think. Lets hope for a good game - with no injuries to either.

St. Xavier 31-21.

I think St. X wins 31 -20 dependent on whether Mattingly plays or not. They really stepped it up against Moeller after falling behind 14 - 0 in the first quarter. If they can carry over the domination they exhibited against Moeller in the second and third quarters they will prevail against the Jackets. Moeller only had four first downs in the second half mainly due to X running 24 plays in the third quarter to Moeller's seven. The defense needs to contain against the big play by Wales.

It's good to see the respect that the coaches and administrators of St. X and Central have for one another. Wish there was more of this in Jefferson County.

St. X unveils it's new passing attack and wins 41-14.

Central has never beaten St. X in 31 career meetings. There are two ties included.

It's hard to imagine how rare it is for St. X to be 2-3. In 1988 they had losses to Manual, Holy Cross, Male, then Trinity to start the year 2-4. X finished 6-5 that season. In 1970 they started 2-3-1. That tie was with Central (as the Scribe noted). Other than that a handfull of 2-2 starts (71, 72, 88, 93) all ending in winning seasons. As far as a losing season you need to go back to 1958 when X finished 5-6.

St. Xavier wins by 20. Central is nice....but then there's a team like X.

Alex and Ryan Oliver are both rehabbing for Sept 30. X should still win convincingly behind the arm of sophomore quarterback Gahafer

Central 28-17, late TD seals it, I dont know why, just a gut feeling
