Final.

LCA blocked a punt and scored with 2 seconds remaining in the game!

that is just great. Sounds like some divine intervention.

Congrats to LCA on the win. Looks like the "Fighting Bluto's" are primed to go on a run!

Takes hard work for luck to come into play!

And sounds like luck came LCA's way.

Great job....

They are still very young, playing a tough schedule. So far they are staying with the fight.

The same thing that has happened to all Lexingington schools, Baseball has run amuck. The baseball fanatics in Lexington have kidnapped these kids parents at 6 and 7 yrs old and convinced them that they must play baseball year round. They are making money off these kids with lessons at Champions and other baseball schools convincing them that they need to go year round. How else can you become good enough to go to the 12 yr old Cal Ripken World series every single year if you dont.(Same 2 Leagues every single year,Must be great comp.) Oh yes I forgot about all the schollys these kids are chasing and their parents find out the most they are getting is 30% on the high end when they get to H.S.They are spending a fortune to get these kid to St. Cath. Then AAU basketball is a another story. While the dads are playing golf and paying for the Lexus in the drive way momma is carting little johhny off to baseball where he wont get hurt. Same thing going on at all the schools in Lexington. These kids are made to make a choice on what sport they will play at 10 years old. Its really a shame and the kids are the ones that are suffering because they never try any other sport to see what they like.

Looks like somebody didn't take their meds today.

Very lame excuse for LCA football and Lexington football in common........every kid has a choice to play what sport they want, sounds like you might want to check out Champions a little closer yourself!!

The main problem with Fayette Co. football right now is not only the popularity of baseball, but the lack of middle school football programs. The Fayette Co. Public Schools Systems have so many restrictions, like when they can start practice, how many games they play, the kids just don't get enough work. Also the rule regarding who can coach, limits the number of good coaches, and right now there are not many good coaches in the midddle schools.

Now as far as LCA, they have run out of talent, the group of kids in Lucas Witt's class were special, they don't come around very often, that groups was very good in every sport.

It also doesn't help that LCA finally move up to 2A, alot tougher competion.

That remains to be seen. LCA has played only 1 Kentucky 2A team, losing to #5 CAL (@ CAL) by 2 points.

LCA got creamed by 2 TN teams, but I'm not sure where they would rank among Kentucky teams. LCA then beat Cincinnati Hills by 3, but again, how good CHCA is vis-a-vis Kentucky 2A teams is not known.

We will now begin to see how LCA matches up with other KY 2A teams.

We haven't seen how that will play out just yet, but they are in a very difficult district. Danville and Somerset should be favorites over LCA, and Middlesboro has a nice team this year, too. I also think LCA had an extraordinary group of kids go through a few years ago that had great football talent. For a small private school, that doesn't happen so often. So now their talent level is a little lower and the competition level has gotten tougher. Combine the two and you see some struggles. But they still have a really good small-school program.

Much better evaluation than blaming baseball for lack of production in football!!

Could it be that it is a young football program at a small school going through a down cycle? Additionally, if there aren't any feeder leagues worth a darn, looks like it will be difficult to replace players w/ equal talent. Lexington is too big not to be a player in one of the major sports.

Yes I agree they are down. They are a player in Baseball. This is a baseball town in H.S, sports.
