It was exactly 187 games. The last time Boyle was shutout was at home against Bourbon County, 24-0, in the 1997 playoffs.

Tonight was the first time during the 4 seasons my son has been on the team that I felt we were overmatched in every phase of the game. However, even though we lost 28-0, I felt the defense played well given the fact that the offense could do nothing thereby leaving the D on the field all night. JH is a great team and one of the quickest I've seen in several years.

Our offense is tough to watch this year in all honesty. We are almost to the mid-point of the regular season and the O hasn't progressed at all.

Boyle just doesn't really have a quarterback, do they?

I had forgotten that, because those games still show up as 1-0 forfeits on the KHSAA scoreboard, which is where I was looking. But of course you're right, the KHSAA finally gave them some of its special "unexpunger" last year. Someone in Birdworld needs to lobby to have the scores restored on the scoreboard.

 

That makes this the first Boyle shutout loss in 95 games.

I am not surprised by the outcome. Just because we are Boyle County doesn't mean we will go undefeated every year. We have been handled by two teams that are better than us. This is Coach French's weakest team since he has been here but this is still a top 5 team in 4A. At the most Boyle will lose 3 more games this year and will still enjoy a successful season. We need to be working to exceed expectations and I believe our coaching staff and players are working in that direction. Losing to two of the top 5 teams in the state is something the team can learn from and hopefully use to our advantage as the season progresses. Seeing this team realize its full potential and playing as hard as they can is something I am proud to see and is all I expect to see.

Boyle just ran into a really good team with size and speed. Rebels will be tough in district and tournament play.

I just wanted to comment that the Boyle County posts have the most class I have seen. Strong support for their team but not afraid to give some credit where credit is due. That is something not seen in most other threads. I hope you guys can run the table now.

John Hardin has a good team and would not be suprised to see them in the state championship. Boyles defense did not look like it was ready for the speed that JH had. And when I say speed I mean speed. You can not arm tackle guys like that. Has for the offense, we were just over matched. The size of JH's defensive line was amazing. I like our QB but I think he is going to have to get better for to go farther in the playoff. I know BC will turn it around so I am not to worried. Here are some stats for the game.

When I saw JH play earlier this season, I was very impressed. They are a very good team. They have a big line, both on offence and defence, and have overall team speed. So a loss to this team is nothing to be concerned with. Boyle will bounce back. Great coach will have them ready for the next game.
