#51 is Jesse Bowling for Boone. He's had 2 huge games for Boone against Ryle and Highlands. He's played in the BC Pee Wee league for years and won lineman of the year a few times. Hard working kid with bright future.

The scary thing about Moss (#44) is he just turned 13 this summer. He's a very young 8th grader and can impact a Freshman game in a big way. He's about 6'2" - 240 and very, very athletic. (Great basketball player also - big sis is Sydney Moss)

#26 Aaron Floyd has tons of ability also and some athletic genes in his family. His Dad played on a national championship team at Eastern and a few years in the NFL. His coach must have gotten in his head a little. When he realizes his ability he will be something special.

He's also an excellent CF and left handed bat for the Rebels baseball team if I'm not mistaken.

I coached Aaron and Thad over the past few years. Thad as a 5th grader had size 13 cleats. He has the best hands i've ever seen for a youth football player, but it's certainly in his blood. He is different than his dad at this stage, he is very gritty and loves to punish kids. Aaron is going to be a Mr. Football candidate someday. You are talking two big time D-1 athletes here, I still try to get them to give a verbal to OSU but it hasn't happened yet. Will be a treat finally watching these kids on the big stage.

I was really impressed with Mr. Bowling. The kid was in the HHS backfield all night long..Boone has a good thing going with this group..I have seen Moss play both basketball and football over the years and he used to take plays off. It didn't look like he was dogging it last night at all..If he continues to grow and keeps playing hard you'll definately see this kid on Saturday afternoons..

I am assuming his pops is George Floyd, Administrator at Boone Co and former Assistant Coach at Bellevue High School in the late 80's and early 90's. Great guy who was an unreal athlete at EKU. He also played with the New York Jets for a short period of time at DB. I wasnt aware he had another son. I remember his son Chase who I believe went to Louisville. Chase was just a wee little kid running around the practice field at Bellevue when I played.

The most eye opening thing about freshmen football I have seen this year is the SIZE of these teams. I thought HHS had decent size for a frosh squad. HHS averages about 200 pounds across the O-line -- once again last night they were up against a much bigger squad. That makes 3 of the 4 opponents that have been huge. The difference being the Camels wore down, Trinity and Boone did not.

 

Rebels did a nice job of getting penetration from the D-line and keeping Hoge from rolling out. When he was able to get outside, there was a man in pursuit or in his face. Deep middle was open all night, just not enough time in the pocket to make the connection. Urlage had another great game and Feggins must have had 7 or 8 receptions. Nice job by the DB's of Boone to break up the pass in the end zone with 10 seconds left. Looked like a sure TD while the ball was in the air.

 

I don't remember Boone throwing a single pass the entire second half. In fact, they ran the same play , left and right, about 20 times in a row. A stretch type play that the RB choose his hole (inside or outside) right behind Moss and friends.

You are correct in your assumption and Chase is the BCHS Frosh Head Coach. The kids love playing for him and he's inovative in his approach. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Yes sir George is his popa. What a great guy George is too. I remember seeing Boone practice in the early 2000's when George was coaching and Aaron would simulate plays and run patterns with the boys. He will be the next big thing at Boone. He was almost unstoppable in BCPWFL just makes too many big plays with his speed and cut back ability.

Boone has a great team. Very physical team. Big and loves to hit. HHS was a bit over matched on size on the field. 51 and Moss played excellent. Like Guru said, score could have been 28-7 Boone. HHS actually had a shot at the end in the endzone to win but couldn"t connect. Lots of missed opportunities for both teams along with some missed play calling. There is no way I give Boone the ball at mid field with 2plus min. left to win. But then again, I'm not making the calls and am glad I don't. Don't want no mafia mad at me. HAHAHAHA!!!!

 

HHS had some big hits and real nice plays too. Just not enough of them. Week off to rest. These boys will need it. They have got to be exhausted, battered, and bruised.

 

Sorry, but read schedule wrong. Birds play next Sat. But they do have an extended week so that will help.

That's a ton of pictures. Thanks. My son and the other HHS DB's look like Peewee players compared to some of those boys.

 

Bottom of page 145 is the sequence of pictures for the 3rd down pass with 20 seconds left that I thought was going to be a game winner. Nice closing speed by the secondary.
