Agree or disagree?

Don't guess I understand it, Beechwood has been our #1 and they are still undefeated plus their seniors won the NKY frosh championship over FTH. Why now? The Cards impressive win over PT or the near implosion of Beechwood against Holmes? G you tell us, what changed your panels choice for #1. Given what Bw returns I would tend to give them the nod but May has progressed much better than I expected. Obviously, I am undecided on whether to agree or disagree

The #3 and #4 spots should become more clear after this week but I suspect that Louisville HC should be at #3

Like I stated in an earlier post. Winning the NKY freshman championship is over-rated and unimportant now. Maybe in 10 years, it may mean something to someone. But, means nothing in 2011. Beechwood didn't look so good last week and that is a concern. Mayfield is heating up with beating PT. I agree 100%. If Beechwood beats Holy Cross and then Cov. Cath. my feelings may change. But until then......

Beechwood is #1.The Seniors were NKy Freshmen champs. What more can you say.

Beechwood is a pretty solid favor as my number 1 here

3. Hazard vs. 2A #2 Somerset

4. Louisville Holy Cross vs. 2A #9 DeSales

6. Frankfort vs. 5A #8 Franklin County

7. Fairview vs. Phelps

8. Raceland at 4A Greenup County

9. Harlan at 2A Middlesboro

10. Kentucky Country Day vs. 2A Carroll County

Top four imo looks good.

IMO Fairview should be in the number five slot. With the pipeline of Huntington West Virginia students coming in. Sure makes them a good team. They play a very weak schedule. But they do blow them all out. Until someone comes up and beats them I feel they should be ranked higher. They were something like 10-1 or 10-2 last season. And this year they are 3-0. Soon to be 4-0.

I like our Rams in the 8/9 position.

5. Fairview, 6. Frankfort, 7. Pikeville 8. Raceland, 9. Harlan and 10. KCD

Just my silly opinion!

Everyone is playing up this week except one team. Getter done 1A!

I really don't see how Beechwood moved. They are the preseason number one, and have done nothing to lose that spot, and done much to prove it. Nothing against Mayfield, I just think with all the returning players, Beechwood is number one until someone beats them.

As for the rest: Raceland played Pikeville to a virtual tie, I don't see how they are more then one spot apart. I said before the game they were as close as you could get, and the game proved it - one point. How are they three spots apart. Fairview has not proven anything til this point. They play a very weak schedule and you really can't tell much about them by their schedule until they reach the district schedule. But, I don't see them as high as they are at this point.

Beechwood & Mayfield tied at #1

Holy Cross & Hazard tied at #3

Pikeville, Fairview tied at # 5

Frankfort & Raceland tied at # 7

Harlan & KCD tied at # 9

I totally agree and it cracked me up when some of your fans started talking about it's importance. Snake and I have had a ball bringing it up several times just for a good laugh. Last night I heard someone say this years 6th grade is going to be elem champs and I couldn't help but say well then they should be the favorite to be state champs their senior year and got a good laugh from others who read the frosh champs post

The bold says it all !

I don't mean it as a slam on Fairview. If the khsaa has looked at it. And nothing is wrong. Then who am I to say anything bad about it. I'm just saying they get some very talented kids out of that area. It helps them lots!

I would agree with these rankings. The only one I would possibly question is Kentucky Country Day. I just haven't seen them play in awhile and do not know much about the team.

But, being from Northern Kentucky, I think Mayfield shoudl stay #1 until Beechwood knocks them off. This could be the year for that to happen!!
