Well Snake, it is what it is, right? BW's still needs a bit of work stopping the pass, but MF couldn't run on us last year and they won't this year either. Luke picked us apart; however, he wasn't pressured. I like Jake alot, but he WILL get pressured, guaranteed! so if he is able to make the right decisions and be on target with his quick hitters before the pressure comes...then it may be another long night for BW. If not, I like our chances, but I won't boast and look foolish by saying it will be done with ease.

 

I like and respect "Toothy" and for the most part, I usually agree with him...except when he plays his childish games on here. However, "You" talk too much just to hear your head rattle. Whenever you aren't blowing smoke (which is rarely), or sounding like our favorite SK fan, you tend to add more value on here

Last year we did establish the run in the second half. I felt we wore the Bw defense down. Not that it has anything to do with this year if we are both fortunate enough to make it that far

Not trying to boast,Crunchie,but going on the last 2 years and what just about every BW fan said before the game , MF has to be the clear cut favorite especially since the game is in the west. I try to give BW their props especially since the seniors won the NKY frosh title 3 yrs ago.

Seemed everyone on here last week talked about how PTilghman was gonna put serious pressure on Jake and get him rattled. Even Coach Wyatt said in his pregame that he didn't think Mayfield would be able to do much through the air and they were gonna load the box and stop the run. Well, as it turned out, the Cardinals only ran the ball 6 times the entire 1st half, pushed the tempo, went right at them thru the air and shredded PTs supposedely stout secondary and pass rush for 194 yds in the air on 8 of 12 passing and 2 TDs and Jake was never even close to being touched. Plus the WRs dropped 2 of the 4 incompletions that would have went for big plays. The Cardinal OL did an outstanding job containing the size and speed of the Tornado and I do not think, from what I've seen, that Beechwoods DL is as good as PTs was. They are improved from 2010 and that DE they have is a beast, but, I think the Cardinals will do fine if the Beechies bring the house. That's when those draws and screens work to perfection. I agree that nothing will come easy against the Tigers as they're an outstanding team, but, I think Mayfield will more than hold there own and it will take a mammoth effort for Beechwood to come into War Memorial Stadium and leave with a vistory. I don't see it happening, but, if it does, I'll be the 1st to tip my cap and give kudo's to the Tigers.

I say not.

Based on last year, I would have given Jackson the edge on defense and Nussbaum the edge running the ball. Nussbaum is even better on defense this year so I am going to support the Tiger and give Nussbaum the edge. IMO Nussbaum is going to be a D1 safety when it is all said and done.

I say Mayfield DE Labront Scott is better than both..Not really, but, he is quite good and will get alot of colleges looking by next year..Nussbaum's a very, very solid HS LB, but, not in Jackson's league, imo..If Nussbaum plays college ball, it'll likely be at a D2 school like Murray St, Eastern Ky, etc.. If he plays D1 ball, it'll be at a Sun Belt, MAC type school and I'm not sure he could play at that level. Not a knock on him because I've seen alot of outstanding HS LBs that couldn't do any more.. Jackson will get alot of D1 offers and will likely play in the SEC.. The kid is a beast and although a little undersized for an SEC LB, he'll get the opportunity because he's that good and has the frame to handle 20-30 more lbs pretty easily without losing his speed/mobility..

Jackson is the #2 rated LB in the state. Plus Scott is D1.

Why do you say Nussbaum won't go D1? He has the speed and size to play safety. I am not sure his frame is a D1 linebacker frame and that is why I see safety. Nussbaum is the fastest kid on the team, yes, faster than Vocke. A lot of going D1 is about size and speed and Nussbaum has both. So where do you see Nussbaum falling short in the D1 recruiters' eyes?
