Mayfield/Evansville Harrison (IN) Predictions

I seem to remember Harrison being good in the past. Who can tell us about the current addition?

Not very good. 0-10 last year. They are a big school and play a tough schedule though and supposedely have the majority of there players back from last year and did start the season with a win this past week. Mayfield should handle them if they come to play, but, who knows with teams like this.

They are 1-0 right now but I dont think they are one of the better teams in Evansville. Ritz and Mater Dei and the 2 usual big dogs.

Harrison has won exactly 1 game since the start of the 2007 season and that was last year. And they weren't much better before that. They have been the worst team in Evansville the last 6 or 7 seasons. I don't know much about them this season but they really have know where to go but up. I will be very surprised if Mayfield doesn't dominate.

Distant past. They haven't been good since Joey Elliot graduated (played at Purdue, was signed by the Eagles last year but cut, plays in the CFL).

As others have stated it been a really long time since Harrison was very good in football, like late 90's. The best team they had that I can remember traveled to Highlands and lost as best as I can recall by about 35-14. I'm pretty sure it was when Highlands had Lorenzen and Smith.

You were so close. The IHSAA site says they lost at Highlands in 1999 by a score of 27-14. Good memory!

I guess the best team of recent years was 7-5 in 2004. They lost to Castle in the sectional final. In 1998 (the year before the Highlands game) they were 10-1 but lost in the second round. In 1997 they were 11-2 and lost in the regional. But they've haven't been very good record wise for some time.

Cards name the score in this one. Should be great chance to work on some things that we worked on last week but without the pressure. Last week we were trying some things that needed some tweaking and it killed some drives. I have to wonder why we are playing a team that is this down?

It's my understanding that Mayfield was trying to land a team from Tennessee for the bowl game, but couldn't get them to commit. Mayfield had to scramble and ended up with Harrison.
