It's my understanding that Mayfield was trying to land a team from Tennessee for the bowl game, but couldn't get them to commit. Mayfield had to scramble and ended up with Harrison.

I heard UC and Jo Byrns and neither worked out but still we should have pribed someone into comming that would atleast keep it interesting for awhile

There are plenty of really good teams around West Tn, McKenzie, Huntington, Westview, Camden, Milan, USJ, JCS, Humboldt, UCity, Lexington, Dresden, Dyer Co, Henry Co, Liberty, Hardin Co, Jax Northside, Riverside, just to name a few. I'm sure if they would have looked hard enough, they could have found someone with an open week.. Jo Byrns is a middle Tn team and they would have been a good one to get, as well..

It's hard to schedule Tennessee teams because they have so many district games. Their districts are usually 7-8 teams, while ours are about 4-5 teams.

I can't image there will be huge gate with a Madisonville /Evansville Harrison doubleheader. I hope this bowl game doesn't fade into oblivion, some really good teams from NW Tennessee would bring in a nice crowd while also making for an easy drive. It seems the state of Kentucky has been saturated with bowl games in weeks 0, 1 and 2.

Honestly, not many of the West TN teams outside of Nash and Mem will play us up here. We have been fortunate in really dominating W TN teams and have quite the reputation down there. The few that can play with us have run into scheduling conflicts on short notice and with the bowl games there is no return trip for them to get a home game.
