Zeke Pike vs Bama Fans on Twitter

I also bet you haven't seen the harsh and vulgar things said to Zeke that his dad shared with me. Harassment to the fullest and uncalled for for any adult to a 17 year old kid.

Zeke hasn't replied to a bama fan in awhile and I know the situation was already handled.

Not to mention a bam a fan wrote this article nobody understands this rivalry and never will until you live in Alabama.

Zeke is a kid and nothing in this article was bad enough to receive the comments he has had said to him.

I know he'll show out at Auburn, even when most want to see him fail

You are correct about the adult responses. Sad.

The fact that the writer is a Bama guy is immaterial. It doesn't change the tweets.

I know Zeke has gone to a "protected tweets" status which means you can only see his tweets if he approves you.

I do not believe "most want him to fail."

I hope that he matures quickly. The past couple of sports seasons have been successful for him athletically, but he has not improved from a temperamental stand point. It may be too late now, but its time for the kid gloves to come off and someone teach him how to handle himself better. I hope that he becomes a major player at Auburn, it only makes every player in our area a little more recruitable. I just hope that he learns to keep his head.

He greatly improved his termperment on the basketball court. Much, much better than the previous season.

I think any adult that follows a kid needs help. This includes those who do it for a living, like those who report on recruiting.

Did he really say anything you would not expect a high school kid to say...NO. Much ado about nothing.

So if you were the coach you'd be alright with your qb talking smack online? What if you were the parent?

Quite honestly why even bring the twitter thing up?

I haven't read the tweets and don't have any desire to do so because it doesn't concern KY high school football but if someone puts something out for the world to see it is fair game.

Those tweets posted by Zeke look pretty tame to me. I guess it shows how crazy they are in Alabama when those tweets create the stir they did.

As to tweeting, facebook and the whole social media spectrum, it is new technology that everyone is trying to figure out. IMO you better be conservative in what you post. Definitely don't post anything you wouldn't say to someone in a public setting. You never know who is going to see what you post. I have seen some facebook posts from kids that caused me to lose respect for them, dropping profanities everywhere and saying things that are uncalled for in any setting. Kids (and adults) need to realize that you become what you post in the eyes of those who see it.

I'm not suggesting that it's out of bounds, however if you're interested in the heat being taken off of this kid then simply don't start threads like this. Do you agree?

It was like night and day between the two last year. Hopefully it carries over to the football field this year. We all know how big of a competitor he is, and his emotions on the football field usually get the best of him. Other than the one incident in the 7 on 7 tourney, everything I've read this offseason has really praised his demeanor and attitude in the camps he attended.

I don't like that excuse, but I hope the same as you do.

Nothing to it actually . Set up an account and then go and choose who you want to get updates from. You never have to post. Just read.

That's about all I do, I think I've maybe tweeted twice ever; one of which was in response to Terrence Jones announcing he was coming back for another season at UK.

All I have to say is he better not bomb out. Kiehl Frazier is going to be a year ahead of him at All-barn,and had just as impressive of an offer list as Pike did. For some players that personality works out, ala Phillip Rivers. But, for every Phillip Rivers, there are 20 Ryan Leaf's.

That's certainly a fair question to ask.

Maybe by calling attention to yet another boo boo someone will learn. The keeping everything quiet method sure isn't working...
