August 14, 201115 yr I have better things to do than check to see if his numbers are accurate. I went with what he said. I have no idea what other teams numbers look like and you can throw the American league out because of the DH. If you throw the American League out then it makes the pitching numbers look even worse. The Reds have the 5th worst ERA in the Natiional League. Their pitching has not been good this season and is the biggest reason they will be sitting out the postseason.
August 14, 201115 yr Willis will be lucky to make it through 5 today. Velocity is down and he can't get the breaking ball over on the corners. Probably no big deal as the offense wore themselves down yesterdsay and the lefty will probably shut them down today.

I think Wood had not pitched in a week and that was a good time to get him some work. LeCure had pitched the night before I believe so he wasn't available. Both LeCure and Wood are long men at this time IMO.

Both LeCure and Wood are long men at this time IMO. Apparently so but when they brought Wood up they said that it was to be the long man and Lecure has been used in short relief quite a bit lately.
August 14, 201115 yr The Padres set their lineup for a left handed pitcher. It was a good move bringing in a righty for long relief to counter the Padres. Wood had not thrown in a while so last night was a good opportunity to get him in. Easy to second guess when you know a top 1 or 2 starter over the last month is going to get injured. Obviously, Dusty didn't know that.
