August 2, 201115 yr Author Maybe one of Dusty's protegees can explain his 1st inning managing to me. The Reds have swung the bat really well the last two games in the 1st inning. Stubbs leads off with a hard hit single to LF. Why does Dusty play for 1 run, and have Cairo sacrifice the runner to 2nd?
August 2, 201115 yr Maybe like what Welsh was saying. Trying to get on a young team early. 2 games and they're a 1st inning team? Is it necessary to question every single move he makes every single game? Good grief. It's getting old. We get it, you don't like him. Most also get it that some decisions will work and some won't, just like every other manager in baseball.

Let him try to get to second on his own.

August 2, 201115 yr I haven't been around that long but I doubt there were this many threads on all of Narron and Miley's decisions.
August 2, 201115 yr Author I haven't been around that long but I doubt there were this many threads on all of Narron and Miley's decisions. Maybe it's because the Reds had worse talent than what Louisville has now, and nobody cared.
August 2, 201115 yr Just so we're clear, you guys don't like playing for one run per inning? Good strategy... If they score that run it's Chapman/CoCo.
August 2, 201115 yr Just so we're clear, you guys don't like playing for one run per inning? Good strategy... If they score that run it's Chapman/CoCo. You're sharp as a bowling pin. In the first inning? Leadoff single, bunt him over? Really? Come on Crash Baker. Get real.

August 2, 201115 yr I don't see what's wrong with it. You're not behind where you have to play for a big inning. You guys are unreal. At that point in the game they aren't going to IBB Votto so you give him a legit RBI chance early in the game. Since when is that a bad thing? And before you say steal him, if thrown out you would've complained that Votto could've knocked him in from 1B.
