2011 Class 1A Preseason Rankings

Featured Replies

I'm pretty sure there was a '2011' listed before the '1A Rankings'.

It's pretty easy to rank last year's teams based on last year's results.

You rank teams based on what they have returning and not what they did last year.

Still think Fort Campbell was the #1 team in 2A last year based on their previous three years? I don't either

Looking back at last year's preseason rankings, it appears that the BGP rankings had 17 of the 24 state semifinalists picked correctly. That's a 71% success rate. Not bad.

Lets move on, West or Guru, what is LHC story, they would be a highly ranked opponet that my Cards would have to face before any possible matchup with Bw. Will they again be run based behind a strong o line? How many of them return?

Not bad but I had 100% correct the following Monday

I saw Holy Cross play Tilghman and Mayfield last year, and best I remember, they lost part of the offensive line. Their quarterback is back, and I was impressed with their tight end. Their biggest weakness, as it was last year, was speed and quickness. They had all sorts of problems dealing with the speed that Tilghman and Mayfield had.

You're utterly brilliant ... bet you've never heard that one before.

They return a lot from a team that was pretty good last season. I would expect them to be a good team. A QB that is credited for 1200 yards both passing and rushing, a RB with 1500 yards and their top three WR are all back.

They are always good, but it seems like for years there has been one team in their region that is just a little better than they are. In the late '90s they struggled with Campbellsville. In the early '00s they couldn't beat Danville. Now more recently it has been Beechwood and Mayfield. It seems like Holy Cross is always about the fourth best team in 1A, just a notch below a couple others. It will be interesting to see how they fare this season.

If LHC's QB was on target the Mayfield score would have been a lot closer IMO.

I say enjoy the pre-season predictions then go out and win all your games and we will know the top teams. Then, we can discuss what happened throughout the season to our respective teams and why they overacheived, underacheived, etc. JMO

Mayfield will get a sturn challenge tomorrow night in a scrimmage with Milan, Tn.. Should tell us alot as teams like Milan will expose your weaknesses. The Bulldogs are preseason #2 in class AAA, right behind Alcoa and the folks there feel this year and next years teams have the talent to compete with the mighty Tornados..

I wish I lived closer. I'd like to see this game.
