His summation of James' comment about those rooting for him to fail waking up the next day is the one that will stick with me: At the end of the day, they're still them. And I'm still me. Because that really is his attitude.

I don't really get wrapped up in like/dislike of James. I want to see him play well because I believe he is physically capable of so much and he is clearly talented. With another player's attitude and killer instinct (like a Jordan or Kobe) he'd be an unstoppable monster. I want to see that because I think it'd be a heck of a thing to watch. Sadly, with each passing year it appears less and less likely that will ever happen. His immaturity seems perpetual.

Is he spot on b/c you agree with him?

The odd thing about all this Michael-LBJ talk is I've never heard a Lebron supporter compare him to MJ. It's always the people who dislike him trying to do it.

For the record, im not a Lebron fan nor am I much of an NBA fan, I just find all this hatred quite comical.

You must not know many LeBron supporters then. They talk about it ALL THE TIME. Heck, quite a few try to argue that he doesn't even need a ring to be in the discussion.

The inference has been the James is destined to be the greatest player of all time because of his physical capabilities. Whether the name Jordan is uttered or not, that is who is at the top of the food chain when it comes to that discussion so by association he is compared to MJ.

LeBron turns 27 this year. That's crazy, I still think of him as 22 or 23.

Yep. About ready to enter his 9th NBA season.

Strong argument by Doyel. It will certainly take a lot to make this go away.

Scottie Pippen must not be very happy.

You have to wonder how much pressure that added to LeBron James. All of that talk came post-Eastern Conference finals and it was never refuted by James. Think about it, you just dominate the Eastern conference and the greatest player ever's running mate puts you on a pedestal to live up to. To begin validating you MUST be big time in the Finals.

As I said last week, I expected James to get out of his funk but nothing in his (especially recent) history has shown he is ready to take on that kind of a pressure cooker.

After hearing what people have to say about Lebron, I hope he wins 10 titles.

He has nobody to blame but himself.

I've been thinking today and I don't think it seems like LeBron loves playing basketball. He may like being an NBA player, and he may even like to play but I don't think he loves the game. He is more interested in getting money and becoming a celebrity and I think there is nothing wrong with that. He may want to be great, but I think deep down he doesn't feel that he "has" to be great.

If he loves the game he will have a post-up game next year IMO. If he doesn't he'll morph into something closer to what we saw in the Finals than what we saw in the rest of the playoffs I believe.

He has nobody to blame but himself.

He has done nothing to deserve the level of vitriol that there is now.

It's unprecedented.

I have to agree. I understand not liking "The Decision." Very few did. But seriously, some people need to get a life with the effort to which they go to make their animosity public.
