I think the government should be questioned and challenged as frequently as possible, but it should be cogent and reasonable, not some silly attempt to smear the other side at any cost. If there were valid points in that film it was lost through the deceptive editing and exaggeration. I'm with Zoot and Randy on this. "Valid points in a Michael Moore film". Logistically SS probably had to ensure they had route back to Air Force cleared before he could leave anyway. "Secret Service wanted to get me to Air Force, and fast." A stationary motorcade on an unsecured route would have not been good that day. While enroute he made the first decision of the situation. Shoot down unresponsive planes. "Hijacked planes were weapons of war." So in minutes a decision was made that if necessary to save thousands on the ground to kill hundreds of Americans in the air. And it only took Obama 16 hours to decide to take out the mastermind of that day - after sleeping on it. Said the same thing to RM in the opposite direction, in another thread. Praise for GWB is warranted for how he handled the situation. However, it doesn't require a jab at Obama to try and reinforce it. There's plenty of opportunities to criticize either of them in threads dedicated to criticize them.

As I've often said - and it's more topical now than ever - if BHO walked on water, some folks would complain that it was heavy water. I'm certainly not a member of the Obama fan club, but it is both sad and sickening that some people can't just say well done and enjoy what was a successful day for America in the War on Terror. To me, it would be like wishing your favorite team didn't win because a player you hated would have had to make the winning shot. I don't understand it. The man deserves some credit for making the right calls. All the credit? No. But, presidents are like quarterbacks in some ways, they probably get more credit or blame than is warranted depending on the circumstance.

However, I had no trouble getting there in this case. If you can't give Obama some credit on this one, its never going to happen. And, that's the truth of it, as you said.
