Way before in fact. Someone posted he went on most wanted list in 1999, President Clinton has talked about the search for him in August 1998 and others put the search as far back as 1995.

Still, bin Laden was largely unknown to the American public before 9/11. He became our top priority (and should have remained that way) after 9/11.

Because some of that time was on a Dem's watch, so it doesn't count in his biased book. :lol:

I believe he became #1 on the Most Wanted List after 9/11 ... I may be wrong about that, but there is no question he was the guy the American public wanted to get more than anyone else.

 

Bush, at least by his public comments, appeared to back off of that later.

I understand the frustration other posters have at the "peeing contest" on display, but I'm also tired of having my views distorted. I'm going to respond to that kind of stuff.

Moving on ... I can't wait to read the next wave of stories about the information that is on bin Laden's computer hard drive, and what actions that may lead to.
