Randall Cobb...

Featured Replies

I thought that Cobb would go earlier, maybe late 1st round. I also will say that I am very glad that he ended up with the Packers. I believe with his versatility that he could return kicks, play in the backfield as well as WR. Green Bay is loaded with recievers but the good thing for Cobb is that he can fill in other roles as well.

No way did I see him going in the 1st round. I saw him as a 3rd round guy and he coundn't have landed in a better place than Green Bay.

I see Cobb as a Hines Ward type, who was drafted in the 3rd round.

I'll admit I was shocked to see some mock drafts with him in the first. I agree with all you said above.

I am glad ESPN kept talking about Cobb he is going to be a Pro Bowler in a few years!

I think Green Bay has probably looked at him and said we haven't had a kick returner worth a dime since Desmond Howard. Cobb will be able to fill in there then learn from guys like Driver+Jennings. He's playing with the best young QB in the league NFL years. Jones is a freak body wise but drops a lot of balls. Cobb gives them a nice gadget aspect much like Brad Smith as somebody mentioned. Great place for Cobb.

The big difference between them is that half of BGP WON'T hate Cobb.

I think you were being nice saying half of BGP hate Hines...

Green Bay made a very good draft choice with Cobb, he is someone they can plug in to their system, and not over use him. For a smaller player like Cobb it will allow him to shine being on a team where he isn't asked and expected to carry the team. Cobb will do wonders there though!

Both played QB, RB and WR in college.

Both were major parts of their program.

Ward is two inches taller.

If he becomes half the player Ward has been, GB will be quite happy...

I was hoping Cobb would get picked by New England or Pittsburgh, but I think Green Bay could be a good fit as well.

If Cobb turns into a Hines Ward the Pack will be thrilled.

No kidding. That is a lofty comparison which is why I went with Brad Smith.

Randall says he will be wearing "18" this year.
