This don't mean anything. I hate to read, absolutely hate it. Was forced to read things I had no interest in all during school and it just really turned me against reading. To me it is entirely unenjoyable and I tried to avoid it at all cost.

 

I am currently a Psych major in college, have over 70 college hours and right now have around a 3.1 gpa. I read my texts every now and then for assignments but most of my knowledge comes from taking notes in lecture and reading various things on the internet. As far as sitting down and reading a book I can't say I have ever done that in college. The few times I was required to read a certain book for class I usually just looked at spark notes or something and done just fine. Some people learn differently than others and I have found better ways suited for me to learn the material as well as other things that make up my general knowledge.

 

 

This is my line of thinking when it comes to people reading books.

I know a number of adults who say they never read a book. I've didn't ask if they had ever read a book, but might do so out of curiousity. Not sure how someone cannot find enjoyment out of picking up (and reading) a book every once in a while. I chalk it up to the internet and the boob tube.

 

I read a lot. Mostly Grisham and Baldacci but I love reading.

I don't know. I think some people are encouraged to read at an early age and find the enjoyment in it while others are never properly introduced to how much reading a book can be enjoyable and beneficial to development in life. My youngest son reads a lot and participates in his reading program at school. He loves reading as much as I do and by the end of this week he will have read more books than Kemba has in his whole life.:lol:

I think I was forced to read probably 50 books just through grades 1-8.

Lets be honest here, if this truly is a quote from Kemba, the guys not an idiot.

Both are in my Grisham top 5. I am really partial to The Firm as it was my first Grisham book. The rest of my top 5 is The Brethren and The Associate. I love all of his work though.

I would venture to guess that my best friend has never read a book but everyone else in my circle of friends are avid readers. That's pretty good for some foul mouthed mechanics.:lol::lol:

The thing is I'm sure he does read something, be it a magazine, online, newspaper or anything else. Almost everyone reads that can, but it may not be the stuff you'd find in a classroom setting. As far as the test I've taken I always score high in reading ability, but I rarely read novels or things people would consider great works of literary art. I'm too big of a nerd for that, I enjoy biographies, autobiographies, and my personal favorite football strategy books .

 

Kemba might have only read one book in his life, but I bet he's checking out ESPN.com everyday.

My History 108 professor at UK made us read 6 non-fiction books to support the text book. Obscure stuff, too. No Cliff Notes for any of them. :irked: I ended up taking Evelyn Wood just to get through the material in time.

I'm 35 and can only name 2 books I am positive I read cover to cover. I hate it and would rather have my butt kicked then read a book. I can barely get through an article if it's more then 5 or 6 paragraphs long. And I am not including childerns books. I rea at least one of those every night to my kids.
