If it happens, best National Title ever for UK?

Featured Replies

Think about it from a UK fan perspective. UL out early being upset. Duke a #1 seed ousted early and to top it off UK takes out the overall #1 seed. Then to beat the #2 all time wins team ever (HOF coach to boot), then have to beat the best overall player in the NCAA (Kemba). Especially with it being unexpected by this group of players to make this run. If UK takes the TITLE, could it be the best one of them all? Thoughts?

It's a long way before we can even talk about that. Don't want to get my hopes up too high yet Uconn will be rough.

I'd say 1978. 20 year drought since winning a title and then coming close a few years earlier in the Wooden finale only to lose.

Don't know if it will be the best but it will most definitely be the sweetest. Just think back to two months ago and how you looked at this team, no one can say they expected this. After everything that has happened the past year, losing all the guys to the draft, not getting Enes eligible, all the road woes, just incredible to see them get there. Kentucky by far had the hardest road to the Final Four. Until yesterday and today some of those guys skipped in.

I think it would be the most unexpected Kentucky other titles they were picked as one of the top teams most of the year. Not to people thought Kentucky would make it to the final 4 this year.

Notice the "if it happens" part of the title... Just a convo piece bro, not saying we are gonna win it..

Why? This is a message board, not the Kentucky locker room. Aren't message boards for discussion, opinions and "what ifs" ?

I was 10 when we won in 1996 and 12 in 1998... for me this would definitely be the best one.

This thread should be closed in fear of a jinx.

:thumb::thumb: We shouldn't even be discussing it now, U.K. has won the East Region.....thats it.

I would enjoy this one more. The grittiness of this team, a guy like Harrelson, and the unexpected nature of it all makes this one really unique, IMO. If it happens, of course. We're likely going to have to sweat out two more close games to win the whole thing.

We're more than capable, but IMO, so are the other three. It should be a good final weekend for close game drama.
