Shawn Thompson at Lawrence Co needs to be heard around the state as one of the top players. I think he had 26 points and 22 rebounds last night against the number 1 ranked team in the Region. I'm pretty sure he has averaged over a double double a game this year. This kid is the top player in the 15th Region and deserves to start getting some statewide recognition!

I think the Big kid for Dunbar-Deontay Wright should get some notice. This kid has sat out for two seasons and plays his senior season and has been a monster. I know that the season record 11-14 doesn't help his campaign, but he's playing with a lot of talented underclassmen. I think that he should get a try out for the KY allstar team.

Gibson, from PC, very fast and can stop on a dime!!! Also can shoot very well. Just not alot of playing time from all of the talent already there.

I have not seen him play only read about him but would anyone agree that Brett White from CC is underrated?

Boyle County's Brian Staed is the best kept secret in KHSAA basketball for the '05-'06 season. Ask defending state champ South Laurel if the big kid can play. Gotta hunch he'll lead the Rebels to the 12th region crown and a trip to Rupp Arena in March. Hide and watch!!

And Antonio Owens will probably be the best player you've never heard of this season. I believe he dropped around 40 against Huntington High.

 

Owens(Boyd Co.) is probably the best player that Corbin has faced this year, a list that includes the Mr. Basketball favorite.

I think that Phil Schambach of Simon Kenton is underated and overlooked. Mike Hester gets most of the ink and attention, but Phil does a nice job scoring,and usually defends the others teams top scorer.

Penick is going to Wright State, and IMO he is actually over rated I agree with the guy who said he is a forward in a centers body, he can not play with his back to the basket at all.

I dont think white from Cambell County is overrated at all. I dont think he is as good as people think he is, Clines makes that team run.

How would you call Owens, Vanhoose, or McDavid "underrated" there 3 of the top 5 players in the 16th. Billy Blanton, Austin Blair, and Adam Cannoy are underrated.

When you say underrated I think of players who don't get the preseason recognition that many others that have been mentioned on here did recieve prior to the beginning of the season. Someone who IMO got absolutely no preseason notice and played a very limited role on varsity last year is Ludlows Justin Hardin. Justin has averaged over 12 points and about 8 rebounds this year and on several occasions has had a double/double to help the Panthers when others on the team might be struggling. Justin has been a very nice compliment to Ludlows 2 other seniors (Penick and King) and IMO has to be considered one of the most improved players in the region. Justin is also a good student and a great kid. Hopefully he will receive the recognition he deserves after the season ends..

Solid analysis to underrated. Along with Hardin, I would say that Noll from CCH fits that bill.
