March 10, 201115 yr I'm not the only one, that was what the independent investigation task force hired to investigate Bledsoe concluded, that those involved were lying. Once again I will call you out as an impossible hater who can not give Cal a break even though it is a FACT as per the NCAA did nothing wrong at UMass or Memphis or at UK with Bledsoe yet you still call him a cheater. There is nothing on him and there will never will be get over it and get used to it. Do youself a favor and read what happened, Cal would never have been hired at UK if there was even a doubt of cheating. Cal is the head coach of UK basketball do you think he has to cheat to get recruits give me and yourself a break.
March 10, 201115 yr All the big-time programs cheat in basketball & football. To think otherwise, in my opinion, is naive.
March 10, 201115 yr It also tries to paint Cal as this great guy that has always been very opposed to racism although his words towards a reporter while he was with the Nets say otherwise. This article is nothing more than a fluff peice designed to attract UK readers and up traffic to the site and sell magazines. Which it will do because UK fans will eat it up. I dare say that calling someone "Mexican" isn't nearly as racist as whatever Andy Kennedy said in that taxi cab, yet you're quick to mention how Kennedy is a changed man, but refuse to afford Calipari that same forgiveness? Nevermind that Cal's incident happened a decade ago. That screams of bias.

Nevermind that Cal's incident happened a decade ago. That screams of bias. Maybe he is, I've never should have questioned Cal as a human being away from basketball, and I never will again hopefully, his actions speak to him being an excellent person away from the game, which is hard to be with the spotlight and all the time the game itself takes. What I question is how much he and the people he choses to bring in value the college basketball rule book, and even still the people he brings in are there because he chooses them to be there, and no one would deny the people he's chosen over the years have followed it very well, whether he was involved or not. He's taken some calculated risks on people and it hasn't always gone well, because it hasn't his reputation follows him with regard to the NCAA rule book. Often times the company you keep is as important as who you are yourself when it comes to image.
March 10, 201115 yr I'm an Ole Miss alum and we certainly have had our share of scandals in football. Basketball not so much, but then again that's why we have very little to show for basketball too. Our all time record against UK is something like 13 and 97, or something in the 90's for UK. I think this years regular season was the 110th all time meeting. My coach punched a cab driver, I can say though his life has change substantially since then, and I've seen it at our church. But that was definitely a major low point. I have no reason to believe that Andy Kennedy is nothing but a good man. With that said, he cheats. I would bet the house that somewhere along the way he has broken the rules. Houston Nutt also cheats. To me it's like steroids in baseball. They all either do it or have done it.
March 10, 201115 yr So I'll stick with what is more likely, the fact that Cal is cheating. He was a cheater before he got to UK and he will be a cheater after he leaves. And with UK's stellar record of being on major probation at least once every decade for the past six decades, I think I'm leaning towards the logical side. That doesn't mean he isn't a decent guy and doesn't do good things like charity, it just means when it comes to the NCAA rule book his is propring up a table leg somewhere in the corner. HT, First of all I also have worries about Cal an the possibility that he may cross the line and put U.K. in a very bad situation with his recruiting. Having said that I will tell you what I feel the difference is between the two. HT, there are some big differences in what I and the ones that may have the same fears about Cal...... I have worries about that he might cross the line, not that he has. HT, you seem to already be crucifying the man when nothing has been mentioned let alone Cal/UK been reported/accused of anything from the NCAA....... I stated "possibility" of him crossing the line. "Possibility" is not saying that he has already done anything, you are already passed the possibiliity and are saying that Cal has already or willcheat. Big difference. All I am trying to say is do not convict the man of something that he has not done or been accused of doing. HT, you aleady are convinced that Cal has,is and will cheat without any mention or accusations of anything by anyone but you. Just a suggestion, you might not want to go into the motivational speaking business. With your negativity I don't think that is your calling in life. lol Edited March 10, 201115 yr by oldrambler
March 10, 201115 yr It has nothing to do with jealousy. But I read the whole thing with an open mind and I see the same stuff I always see with Calipari and UK. A recruit and coaches that will say anything to avoid suspicion, but the cloud of suspicion is just always going to be ther because of the past. Gilchrist mom can say all she wants, but I'm sure Wes advised her on some level what to say. I've read other reports where recruits wanted no part of Wes and he's told their mothers, don't you know who I am. As if by insulting him he could ruin the kids future. So I'll stick with what is more likely, the fact that Cal is cheating. He was a cheater before he got to UK and he will be a cheater after he leaves. In all seriousness though you are probably right most all of them have at least cut corners at one point or another.

That's not true! I don't think UK was on probation in the 1960's.
March 10, 201115 yr I got mine on wednesday in the mail. Its got Joe D on the cover. One guy on the Drew Deener show said he read it in five minutes. Drew said "no way, its nine pages long!" So if you think about it time yourself if you read the magazine. I haven't read it yet.

Obviously I can't prove anything I'm saying but the NCAA has created an environment where it is almost impossible to not cheat. FWIW, I don't have a problem with how things are done in college sports. It's a business where the Universities, networks, coaches, etc make a ton of money. Cheating comes with the terriotry.
