Keep hatin HT. I know you would love nothing more than to see Cal get brought down, but it just is not going to happen. Keep prayin bro. Jealousy will eat away at you from the inside. You need to let go.

It has nothing to do with jealousy. But I read the whole thing with an open mind and I see the same stuff I always see with Calipari and UK. A recruit and coaches that will say anything to avoid suspicion, but the cloud of suspicion is just always going to be ther because of the past. Gilchrist mom can say all she wants, but I'm sure Wes advised her on some level what to say. I've read other reports where recruits wanted no part of Wes and he's told their mothers, don't you know who I am. As if by insulting him he could ruin the kids future. So I'll stick with what is more likely, the fact that Cal is cheating. He was a cheater before he got to UK and he will be a cheater after he leaves. And with UK's stellar record of being on major probation at least once every decade for the past six decades, I think I'm leaning towards the logical side.

That doesn't mean he isn't a decent guy and doesn't do good things like charity, it just means when it comes to the NCAA rule book his is propring up a table leg somewhere in the corner.

When did Cal cheat? The NCAA doesn't believe he's ever cheated, it says so in the article that you just "read with an open mind". So when did this cheating take place?

Why is it everytime you turn around Cal's program is under investigation? Because of cheating. The list of players the NCAA has investigated under Cal's watch is staggering, to say everytime he never had any knowledge is just crazy. Shady figures like WWW are around all the time and influence players to him non stop because he "takes care of his own", whatever that means. You can't pass the vacated seasons, final fours, and wins off forever. Eventually when it happens under your watch you have to be responsible. If a manager constantly has workers stealing under his watch, eventually it's going to come around to the fact that he was the manager and he should have made wiser managing decisions. Same for Cal if he wants to play innocent (which I highly doubt he is), eventually after enough final fours and wins are vacated he has to be responsible, he brought in the assistants that helped oversee and he brought in the players that cheated. Despite all the vacating of wins he still continues to go after recruits with questionable ties and questionable backgrounds. Bledsoe, Kante, and now Gilchrist who if for nothing else his relationship with WWW will draw serious suspicion towards him chosing UK.

You can speculate all you want HT, but don't you really think it's irresponsible to get on here and call Cal a cheater when you don't have ONE shred of evidence to back up your assertion? I think you need to be honest with yourself. The hate you have for UK/Cal simply cannot allow you to decipher anything regarding UK/Cal with the open mind that you claim. Your judgement is highly impaired due to your bountiful bias. Let's lose the whole "open mind" thing, because you and I both know that's a load of crap. Wish you would just be truthful.

I'll add the obvious Camby and Rose, but who is investigating Gilchrist besides you? Bledsoe was cleared as well and was only ever investigated because of some shoddy journalism. Oh, and Bledsoe was a Gillispie recruit. I guess Gillispie wasn't a cheater because he didn't win?

And regarding the "kentucky is always on probation" stuff. This is basketball. Check the date on UKs late major basketball violation and then look at the list since then.

Bledsoe was cleared because everyone involved lied to cover up. The independent investigators even said they felt they were lied to at every turn.

This article is nothing more than a fluff peice designed to attract UK readers and up traffic to the site and sell magazines. Which it will do because UK fans will eat it up.

I think this was a very well written article which exposed some of Cal's wrongdoings as well as some of the things he has done well.

Even if you disagree, this piece was not written overnight and is not "fluff".

Do you think your love for UK can let you look at it with an open mind? I mean you can accuse it of me and that's fine. I don't like UK and I don't care for Cal, and I didn't care for him in the past, so it's not just a now he's at UK I think he's a cheater thing. But the bias I have, you probably have in the exact reverse so everything that tries to defend Cal you look at as the best journalism ever, whereas when someone goes after him they clearly just have an agenda. I mean ask me to be truthful that's the truth. I see things how I see them, and you see them how you see them. But you see them through your own blue colored glasses, and those glasses probably blind you to what non UK fans see about him.

Absolutely. I have called a spade a spade when it's needed. While I'm a die hard UK fan, I will call them out if they need to be called out. If Cal ever gets sanctioned while at UK, then you better believe I will be the first one in line to take a swing at him. However, the man has NEVER been found to have broken any NCAA rules during his career. The facts speak for themselves. Liken me to Dr. Todd. He was very apprehensive about Cal as the article states, but after watching the man do work, he has great admiration. So the bottom line is this, I CAN look at things from an objective view point, but you CANNOT. The difference between you and I is that one of us chooses to judge with innuendo while the other judges with facts. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty counselor?

So glad that you're the only one who REALLY knows whats going on. You should get a job with the NCAA.

So far you've got 2 kids the NCAA says Cal knew nothing about, 1 kid that was cleared of any wrong doing, 1 kid that never played, and a kid that nobody is investigating. Great list.

HT, I would be interested to know who you like? I got news for you brother, there's not one coach who has been around for very long who hasn't cheated or raised a suspecion or two.

I agree. The article was not a complete exoneration of Cal. Like poetry, it is open to interpretation.

I'm an Ole Miss alum and we certainly have had our share of scandals in football. Basketball not so much, but then again that's why we have very little to show for basketball too. Our all time record against UK is something like 13 and 97, or something in the 90's for UK. I think this years regular season was the 110th all time meeting. My coach punched a cab driver, I can say though his life has change substantially since then, and I've seen it at our church. But that was definitely a major low point.

I'm not the only one, that was what the independent investigation task force hired to investigate Bledsoe concluded, that those involved were lying.
