More on NKU to D 1 and the Horizon League

Featured Replies

I know for a fact the OVC is looking to add another school that has football. No idea if an offer has been extended though.
I don't think football is a prerqequsite for getting in the OVC anymore. The league took SIU-Edwardsville as its 11th team a couple of years ago, and SUIE doesn't have football.

Another reason to up the tution at NKU...but it still doesn't do anything for their quality of education. You tell somebody in an interview that you have a degree from UC, UK, or Louisville, and you get a warm, "Okay...nice." You tell them you graduated from NKU, and you're lucky to get a disinterested "...oh."

Votruba should put some effort into improving their educational rep.

UC

Resident $3,355.00

Non-Resident $8,196.00

EKU

Resident $3,386.00

Non-Resident $8,870.00

NKU

Resident $3,564.00

Non-Resident $6,948.00

Louisville

Resident $4,212.00

Non-Resident $10,212.00

UK

Resident $4,305.00

Non-Resident $8,839.00

I believe there is a mandatory 2 year transition period where you can't participate in post season.

So success may eventually come to the Norse, but it's unrealistic to expect much for the first decade. Are the people in and around NKU willing to wait that long?

Which was addressed as well in his response...but it is a good question. Paraphrasing again, "This is a move that will pay dividends down the road, 10, 20, 30 years from now."

Of coarse that is the overall goal, and the amount that the educational reputation has improved over the last 5+ years has been very strong in my opinion. I believe you will continue to see this growth in reputation as well with the implementation of new processes to cut down on students being admitted to the University with deficiencies.

That's not true in any way, shape, or form.

I didn't want to turn this into an arguement, but I'm with you UKMF.

It's not a requirement...but they're looking for another team with football. That'll make 10 football playing teams and 12 basketball playing teams (so they can split the conference in two divisions for basketball).

I'm with the Colonel on this one. Go to work for a fortune 100 company and see the resumes they get and who they pick. They will take the pick of the litter and it won't be a NKU degree.

I'll have to tell that to my 5 friends that all went to NKU and work at P&G.

That may have been true before, but any more companies will hire the most qualified candidates regardless of where the got their education.

Hopefully soon you'll have a sixth :sssh:

You are correct, UKMF.

The OVC is looking for another team, period. Football would be nice, but it isn't required.

It all depends on what you are taking, There arts program is outstanding, and what about Chase Law, if you want to be a teacher you go to Morhead, and so on.
