This one sounds like a classic.

I love to watch a good OT game....as long as my team isn't the one playing in the OT....:D

I tried to find the box scores on this game and couldn't would love to see the scoring.

Once again.....my Purples come up short. Honestly, the way these two have been playing lately I expected a WC blowout but good to see it was a great game. Rivalries. I hope to see my Purples when I go to Rupp for the Sweet 16.

Do you know the box scores?

I was there but can't even remember what happened. Every overtime was chaotic and the team you thought had it salted away would blow the lead. I think in the 4th OT, BG scored with about 15 seconds to tie game. WC took ball out to lose the ball fouling Bg on the field goal attempt. Bg misses both free throws with about 10 seconds then fouls streaking Central player who makes both foul shots with 3 seconds. Game over or something like that. Behanan had 28 points and 25 boards. and Fant had 23 pts and 18 rebounds. Incredible game and just an appetizer for yhe regionals. You can watch the game on Ihigh.

Nope. I graduated from BG but live in Boyle County now. BGP is my only access to my Purples. Waiting for DragonFire's commentary.:D

Thanks so much, really appreciate getting info from that region. Hope you will post the results on the regional games.

DragonFire just got in from celebrating. Was pretty much gonna go out to celebrate or drown my sorrows, but got to do the fun one. What can you say about the game? Classic game, glad the Dragons came out on top. I thought I was going to have a heart attack when they kept going into more and more overtimes. The Dragons had the ball with the chance to win the game pretty much every overtime, and just couldn't get it done until Norman Johnson knocked down a pair of free throws with 3.3 seconds left to give the Dragons the 81-79 victory. Shanklin had a shot at the end of regulation. Smith had a shot at the end of one of the OTs. One time Cortez Barber hit a free throw to tie and then missed the free throw that would have won it. It just kept going and going.

Bowling Green's game plan was solid. They ran a box and one on Shanklin, trusting Behanan to get Fant one on one, and it really shut Shanklin down. He had been doing incredibly well of late, and you could tell his frustration in that he shot pretty much any slightly open look he got. He had a huge 3 pointer in the one of the overtimes to draw it to 70-69 when Bowling Green had been up 4, the largest lead in any OT. But for the most part Mike Geegan for Bowling Green stuck to him like glue. Something the Dragons will have to adjust to come the expected region final.

Behanan picked up his fourth foul near the end of regulation, and that made him a little more tentative on both sides, deferring more on offense than usual and not quite as aggressive defensively. He never did foul out, but it was a factor IMO. So was a technical Darius Clement picked up for the Purples in a tie game with 40 seconds left in one of the overtimes (they really blur together), which nearly put the nail in right then. Fant didn't have what I thought was his best offensive game, but he seemed to get stronger as it wore on, especially once Chane got in the foul trouble.

The main thing is this is not the game that either REALLY wanted to win, though neither ever wants to lose to the other. Still, the main event is still expected in a week and a half. Hopefully neither messes it up.

Would've loved to been there for this game. These two have played some classics over the past two years.

It was nice to see a classic this year after the first two games didn't meet the hype at all. No one expected lopsided games in the first two, so it's like they overcompensated in the other direction tonight. Tonight matched the longest game in Warren Central history, which came in 1987.

Didn't these two go to multiple OT's in last year's region final?
