Doesn't change the fact that if the guy that handles every offensive snap, is not performing well, then he's going to be looked at 1st. "held accountable" by whom??? The fans??? I go back to my "ignorant" statement. The Cincy media??? I go back to my "ignorant" statement. I am tallking about accurate assessment- not sensationalism to get listeners and readers because it is "popular" to bash the Bengals now.
January 28, 201115 yr Every time I see someone mention Bratkowski being gone, I will mention Paul Alexander must be let go. I am not saying Bratkowski shouldn't be gone but I want Alexander to get some well deserved heat. Think about this. The Bengals have stunk it up for about 20 years now. Paul Alexander, our offensive line coach and ASSISTANT HEAD COACH, has been here 17 years. Hmmmmm .... On the topic of how much blame Palmer should get, I am with malachi. He doesn't get all the blame by an stretch but he deserves a lot more blame than any other player. He does receive more blame than any other player, but it is totally inaccurate when he gets battered every game, has receivers tip balls into INT's and pull up on routes, and has a defense that can't keep it close!!! The Bengals can win with Carson Palmer, but he needs a better o-line and WR's he can trust, as all QB's do! He is the least of their problems!

January 29, 201115 yr Since when has it not been "popular" to bash the Bengals. Last season whent they swept the division; '05 when the town thought they were going to beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs(until Carson went down).

The defense had a few games when they did a really good job, but so did the offense. It was just a bad year all the way around last year, every game one of the three phases were bad. The defense had the games Wildcat listed, the offense definitely had their games too, and the special teams did their job to chip in too in terms of being bad. So the defense was at best a little better than mediocre. Especially for a team that had a top 5 defense the year before. Whats weird is the defense actually played better at the end of the year, after all the starters were hurt.

Whats weird is the defense actually played better at the end of the year, after all the starters were hurt. Totally agree!! Dunlap's emergence was a big reason;Sims and M. Johnson also played well. Defensively they can return to the top, especially if they get a big time pick in 1st Rd; Bowers, Fairley, Peterson, Dareus....
January 30, 201115 yr If I'm Palmer I give Brown one more chance to trade me and if he doesn't every pass I throw will be 10 yards deep into the side line. "Not much different than what he did this year." Hey, that's not fair. Palmer completed alot of passes this past season, many of them going for touchdowns, and some of them even to the Bengals.
