I wouldn't be too quick to anoint the Breds. An injury to their bigman and they would be a shadow of themselves. There is another month of ball before the tournaments start. They do have to be considered as a legitimate contender for the crown though and like a lot of folks have been saying it should make for a very exciting regional tournament. Here's hoping that there are no upsets in the districts and all the top teams are present in the regional. It would make for great crowds at the BOK come March.

Suprised by the score, either Holy Cross is no where near as strong as I thought or NCC just played a dominating game.

It was 31-29 Newcath with about 5 minutes left in the third quarter. it was only an 11 point lead at the end of the third period. Holy Cross just did not knock down shots and Newcath shot 65% for the game and probably a lot higher than that in the second half.

This seems to be an issue for Holy Cross this season. I noticed Burger has had some tough shooting nights and Avery I believe shoots under 30% from the field. I am curious what they shoot as a team, maybe Statman can offer this information. You have to hit shots and it seems with the way they press and create turnovers, they are missing out on a lot of scoring opportunities.

NewCath shot 27-40 (67.5%) from the field while Holy Cross went 32% from the field. Say what you want about creating turnovers in which the Breds committed 19, 7 by Giesler, but when you shoot lights out like that, your opponent is not going to win that game. NCC had Villanova-like shooting in the second half going 16-22 (73%) from the field while Holy Cross shot 27% in the 2nd half. I will have a complete box score and notes from the game as soon as possible. I thought I had to drink a lot after the Bryan Station game, but I think I need more after this one.:lol:
