And no, not all stud players are stupid, but have you heard/seen the studs from the SEC teams in recent years? Intelligent is one of the last words I'd use to describe them. Notre Dame isn't back, nor will they be back any time soon. They'll never be on the same level of athletic talent as the elite of the SEC. They can't bring in the same type of guys, unless they compromise their "integrity and ethics", which since it's Notre Dame we're talking about, I guess they probably will.

Am I on track? BTW have you even looked at their recruiting class and the holes they are filling on defense with athletes?

February 1, 201115 yr Next season, outside of Stanford and MAYBE USC, they don't play a single team that would finish .500 in the SEC. Their schedule is a joke, just like their fans opinion of the team.

If it makes you feel that much better about yourself because you can bash a program that hasn't had success in recent years and it's fans for being optimistic that their team will return to glory again, then go for it.

Beating up the MAC and the BEast is hardly "doing great things". Here's the thing, Notre Dame may get or have 5-6 guys on each side of the ball that would be considered "SEC athletes". The SEC schools have 11 on each side....Until Notre Dame gets to that level, which I don't see ever happening, they'll never be a serious threat. JMO.

Yeah I'd rather have Tony Pike over Cam Newton because Pike is easier to coach, and will want to learn. It's alot easier to coach guys who feel slighted. They can't bring in the same quality guys regardless IMO. ND does not have the appeal it had years ago. Sure they are bringing in some big time southern recruits, but SEC teams are loaded with them. The lowest rated guys they get are studs as far as athleticism goes. The lowest rated guys ND has got this year most likely are not. JMO. I'll hold my judgement on Kelly until he beats a good team. The good teams in the south are loaded with athletes. As bad as UF was this year they played about 10-12 DL a game, and I'd bet at least 8 of which were as athletic as LBs in most other parts of the country.
