January 21, 201115 yr BF...sometimes it is hard spiritually. You just have to hold on and believe. I try not to ask why as well.....I look at PH and really can't help but wonder "why".....Maybe you all touched someone and made them believe that they could go on....maybe your story will inspire someone...who knows. All I know is there has to be a God because so many prayers are answered. God is not done with you, TD, or PH yet. I have to believe that you all have a mission to carry on and your work is just not done. Mike is still so weak and we are not even going to the football banquet this year. Normally, he would not miss this for anything. He has been carrying a fever....at night it is reaching 102....his doctor was to see him today, but, schools closed and she had to cancel so she and her nurses could go home to their children. She had an nebulizer with two different medications sent to him today. He has a dry cough....maybe this will help the temp? I just don't know why some people as great as you and others on BGP go through what you all do. It just does not seem fair at times. It seems as though one thing gets cleared up and another thing pops up.....keep faith, I am trying!!! Prayers still here!
January 22, 201115 yr Glad to hear you are home BF. Don't let the squirrels work you back into a frenzy anytime soon. Best thing about BF getting back home is it came just in time for him to celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day, which is today!
February 5, 201115 yr Forgive me for bringing this back up again, but I wanted to give a quick update to everyone who had prayed for me and sent their good wishes during these past couple months of insanity. This past Thursday, I visited the hematologist (blood doctor). Tests there showed that my hemoglobin level has not fallen since I left the hospital a couple of weeks ago. In fact, it has risen from about 8.9 to 11.4. She said that the blood is building itself back up, and is almost up to a normal level. Imagine that...I have something almost "normal" for once! Well anyway, it's a heck of a lot better than the 4.9 I showed up with in the E.R. that awful morning. She's going to check it every three weeks, for a while, to make sure it doesn't sneak down again. Had the number been lower this time, it would have opened the door to a whole realm of scary possibilities. Thank God that we won't have to go there. Yesterday, I visited the cardiologist and had an echocardiogram done -- because I do enjoy them so much. The echo showed that the mysterious fluid build-up that was once squashing my heart (leading to the first of the two hospital trips), had completely disappeared, as fast as it appeared. The doc wants me back in six weeks for a check-up, but won't do another fun-filled echocardiagram for six months. I can only explain these two bits of great news as a divine gift. And it came about, I believe, because of all the prayers offered up by family, friends (like the BGP family) and some people I don't even know. I feel truly blessed. By the way, I need to apologize to Run to State, that he had to find out about my ambulance trip second-hand, from KyTmcNcc. But you see, we were afraid that if we told him too soon, he might run the ambulance off the road trying to beat us to the hospital...again. Seriously though, it was so cool that he had met us there in the E.R. for the first trip -- that's what being a friend is all about...and he is the bestest.* *Don't tell him I said any of this; his head's big enough as it is. :sssh:
