Holmes/Holy Cross Predictions 1/7

Featured Replies

The previous thread was closed way before the game is to be played, so I thought I would open another thread. Based on results with a common opponent, Holmes should be favored by 12 points. Having said that, if HC can shoot the ball as well as they did against Ryle and they choose their spots to get transition buckets, they could pull the upset. I would be lying though, if I said it was not going to be tough to do.

Holmes by at least 20.

I think this game is much closer than 20. Holy Cross has struggled a little but they have a better team than their record shows. I think this will be a hotly contested district battle that will go down to the wire.

Holmes by 15

I think Holmes will have too much quickness and athleticism for the Indians.

Charles Knox will be extremely tough to stop down low because of his physical style of play, as will Dontel Rice because of his length and athleticism.

Holmes has the X-factor with Chris Hayes.

I'd expect to see HC to try and play some zone to force Holmes to beat them from outside.

Both teams like to get up and down the floor so expect a higher scoring game than in years' past.

Good luck to both teams. AS I stated in the other thread, nkysports.com will be bringing you this game both live and on demand under our webcasts link.

My prediction?

Holmes- 63

Holy Cross- 53

I expect this to be a tight game with Holmes pulling the win by seven. I havent personally seen HC play this year, how is McClendon, Avery and Beal doing for the Indians?

McClendon is our second leading scorer behind Burger, Avery is averaging five assists a game and Beal has only played in five varsity games averaging about six minutes a game.

Just received word that we will NOT be covering this game due to some illnesses within our staff.

Our next scheduled broadcast will be 1/14 between Covcath and Newcath.

Either way, still looking forward to seeing this game.

thanks statman

Beal is playing heavy JV minutes he has had 1 good game but has struggled in the others. He is a great athlete but shooting % is not great currently.

I'd like to see HC keep this one close. I haven't seen Holmes play this year so I wont even make a prediction.

What does HC's starting lineup look like, position and height?

I know of the following:

5'11 Christian McClendon G

6'2 Jake Burger G

6'4 Jerry Arlinghaus F

Who else? Allen? Broering? Avery?

Where is the game?

^^^ Holmes at 6:00

I think last game was the first time we used the same starting lineup in consecutive games. Add Allen and Avery and that is what it was last game. Pretty much the whole season has been a different lineup, but we consistently play at least 10 guys.
